if the front wheels were airborn it sounds like they used a spec lift which hoikes the front end up to tow, not a good idea with a permanent 4wd escort cos.

i honestly dont think it will be in bits just yet.

obviously im no car thief expert, but id have thought it would be locked away somewhere for a few days until they can be certain its not got a tracker on it thats alive.

just my view, which i hope is true which would give a little more time to find the car

There's only one way to stop a tracker If it hasn't been removed, so you could always head down to Tilbury.

really sorry to hear this mate, just a daft one.... but have you had a walk up and down your road looking at neighbours houses for CCTV?, as i have it on my house and have had to use it a couple of times, when something has happened to a neighbour/neighbours property etc...

some people use it for works vehicles running trackers to monitor if you stray off typical work routes.

I imagine when the government has pay per mile gps tracking on all cars they will be big business until 2 years later the law catches up and bans them.

Mate so so sorry to hear this! As you may know my Cossie went missing last month and managed to get it back. It was in a lock up within 1/4 mile of my house.

Have a proper nose round all the local dives, try dodgy looking garages/lock ups and anything that looks half suspicious. I managed to find mine so there's hope mate!

And speak to anyone dodgy you know.

Just feel really empty, really strange. Clare has saad the same thing, and she was always joking about the car breaking down on us - you know, got your aa cover etc....
Worse thing is, car was running ok lately too - went to LeMan and back in the summer, and went down to the Goodwood Revival in it on Sunday - even had a few thumbs up on the way there....
But now.... just feel......ehhhhh

all i can say is think positive about getting it back as most stolen cars just get parked up for a couple of days before the tw4ts start stripping them

Not good, my old mk1 escort got stolen a few years back so i know the feelings Luckily mine turned up but only because they offered some bits from it to a friend of a friend!

Im about 10-15 mins away so il keep my ears and eyes open for it. There was a gang going around catford/bromley area a while back with a blue transit taking cossies and mk1/2 escorts...could be the same lot? Think they may have taken a 3dr from round the corner from me too, all taken in broad daylight...they have some cheek eh

If im right a harvey frost is the only front lifter that can be used on 4x4 cars....and they smash the front out of the car being towed as they swing about so id guess they only want it for bits and it would be in a lockup or garage somewhere near?
