Default pc question(cd burning)

right ive just bought a dvd re-writer drive for my pc, got all in and working and installed all the software disks that came with it.
i also bought some dvd+r cds, when i put 1 of these in and then go to burn some music from my hard drive i get a message saying "please insert a blank or re-writable cd!? even though these are brand new?

im thinking ive bought the wrong type of disk for what i want to do?

First check if you can burn CDs, if not then you know it ain't just DVDs you have a problem burning - will help diagnose the fault.

Also go get the latest version of Nero, from K*zaa or something you know the score

DVD+R's are DVD's, you really want CD-R's for audio.....

You also need to check if your DVD burner can burn DVD+R's or DVD-R's or both.....
