Should of left it on then because he was actually taking the piss out of a "child" with cancer who had snuck into his TEENAGE cancer gig and the child with cancer was an adult... that was the punch line of the joke.

In fairness when you followed the joke through you clearly knew it was made up... it could have been black, asian, muslim, irish, welsh, disabled children and the joke would have been EXACTLY the same.

It isn't right or wrong to joke about a certain subject IMO, it WRONG to aim a joke about a subject at someone who is dealing with it in a nature that is intended to hurt.

Its not "common" at all. The police statistics just dont back up the "cry rape" thing you say. Its estimated between 3-6% of all rape "ALLEGATIONS" are false

Bear in mind that only 40% of incidents of rape are even reported!!!

 

Warren, common or not, I know someone who had it happen to him, very nearly ended up inside too.

Fuck that, doing time for a rape you havent done, and everyone hating your family etc.
Not to mention the amount of police resource wasted that could have helped solve (and hence prevent further) genuine rapes.

Its a crime on a par with rape itself IMHO, to falsely accuse someone of it.

 

Yes, I don't think woman cry rape that often, however, two incidents i know off all be it over the last 15 years.

One, girl goes to cops, claims rape, gives description etc tunrs out it was he boyfriend she described, he had done sold all, they had just fallen out, police charged her with waisting police time, as a kid she used to headbutt lamposts and then claim we had hit her??

The other, a mate shagged a bird he had been seeing when we were younger, she was up for it, but then on realising that her older sister would find out, and tell her strict parents (keep in mind we were 16 at the time), she decided to claim to her sister that my mate had forced her!!!

It all went tit's up big time, then after the stink died down a few months later, she came sniffing back round wanting to get back together??? Even admitted she panicked and didn't know what to say to her sister, so pretended it wasn't her choice!!!

People like this really anger me as it means real victims that have to have masses of courage to come foward are treated as a lier!!

My misses mate was raped when she was younger, think she was around 14-15 by a lad who followed her home from a party, she never went to the police, and she finds it very hard to be comitted or faithful, wonder if this early vile act has affected her ability to feel comfortable with men??

I agree with you here chip, but with the number of cases of rape unreported allready the police HAVE to act.

On the flip side the police can and do prosecute woman (and men) who falsly accuse rape. People have been locked up for it.

The problem is that often the "reputation" even once found innocent fucks peoples lives up.
Almost certainly!! Theres whole books on the psychological effects of rape and sexual abuse (child and adult).

Some people cant trust men full stop as a result and it can go to the other extreme where some women become extremely promiscious as a way of gaining power over men. If its partner rape its even more messy as some people will end up after a long abusive relationship subconciously looking for bad guys due to conditioning, low self esteem and some even develop the belief that they deserve to get hurt.

Thats just the start of the possible mental effects.

Women crying rape that havent been is just as bad and there is a lot of it goes on so in that sense women can be as bad as men.

This consent thing really pisses me off to. Why is it the mans repsonsibilty ?

Joking aside, theres women in my town that will eat you for dinner if your to pissed and their reputaion proceeds them.

Even when they do get locked up, it tends to be for 28 days, and then they are out and no one cares in the public particuarly, ie no long term stigma.

where as some poor bastard doing 7 years labelled a rapist when he isnt, its fair to see that his life genuinely has been TOTALLY ruined IMHO, far more so than any rape victim arguably, and that of his family to a large extent too I would imagine in most cases.

 

everything can be joked about in my opinion. we all have sore points that we won't find jokes about funny, but humour is very personal and one man's ricky gervais (funny as fucked) is another man's lee evans (funny as being butt fucked)
