my 4wd saff was in for its nct test yesterday(irish version of a mot).the co reading at 900 revs with engine temp at 87 degrees was 0.22%.anything above 3.5% is a fail.the car has been mapped by msd using the closed loop chip. i am using maxol 99 ron fuel which is the same formula as the tesco petrol.the problem is i dont know whether to be over the moon with this,or is my saff running to lean.your considered opinions on this would be appreciated.

James - do you know what the Hydrocarbons (HC) were?

Normally it is a bit higher (around 0.70%) - is the idle lumpy/hunting?

James if you look at THE MSD report when the chip was fitted you'll see that the fueling is spot-on for hard use of the car
TBH i thought it was really really good on fuel far far better than my Evo anyhow

Evo is still awesome never fails to make me smile have got itchy feet though quite fancy a FQ400 or an Evo X RS

Jesus has it been that long god thats flown by why many miles you done?
I wouldn't expect anyless from that car pal it was top quality Saph i'd rate it up there with my old Rouse Sport
Have you altered anything to personalise it or is it as the same the day i sold you any fresh Pictures if so get them posted up

How do you find cleaning the wheels every 5 mins

just remember to give it plug, rotor arm, dizzy cap service before winter sets in or failing that convert it to coilpack

cheers stu your reply is much appreciated.i have been holding back a bit on the revs just to be on the safe side .

matt
the car is the same as the day i got it off you in appearance[perfection in my eyes]
i put a set of eagle f1 on as i found the ones on were a bit skitty in the wet.also put a brand new set of headlights in and had to buy 4 revolutions just to get a 18in spare. [revolution had only one set at the time and they would not split them]and a new head unit .will get some pics up soon, havent taken any of it myself yet[lazy b****d].glad yourstill enjoying the evo ,is there much of a diff between the380 and 400.

you've done all the things to that i would've done had i kept it, never really used it in the wet TBH, but the fun we had fitting those tyres was comical we broke 2 tyre machines as the tyres were so tight, i wasn't to fussed about a full size spare as you could always fit a 15" alloy on the rear if you ever got a blow-out

get some pictures up you using her over the winter?

my evo is running around 340bhp the MR FQ400 has forged engine as standard and plus dare i say the Badge aswell and the fact there were only 100 built with a turbo change and exhaust, remap 500bhp can be had which will be plenty enough for a fast road car

I could just fit my engine with some uprated rods & Cams and run 400bhp/400lb-ft all day long and would be cheaper but we will wait and see if i get this new job i've got an interview for Ł20+per hr (which for up here is very very good money) so fingers crossed and i'll set about modifying or saving for a FQ400

the car is now parked up for the winter, not that we had any summer matt,fq400 sounds like a proper weapon ,hope you have some luck on the job front its really gone into a recession over hear very quickly.every time you turn on the tv jobs are being lost ,the missus got made redundant a few weeks back, she works in banking and after 12 years in the job the full operation was shut down with 24 hours notice, the construction industry is also on its knees, but lucky enough i am kept going at the minute.
ps loved the video on utube you posted last night
fingers crossed for you on the job front.
