just curious what my engine is worth complete. turbo reciept £1300, block,rings, headgasket,sensors and gaskets,water pump,cambelt,actuator,air filter,clutch,oil pick up,oil pump spring etc, mocal oil cooler £2700 so thats receipts for 4k also has stuff but no receipts big wing sump, siemens 870cc, coilpack conversion, level 8 pectel board live mapped by msd bill was £700 all in. so receipts for about 5 k and head is 4k miles double springs, bd14s, bronze guides new tapets. for the whole engine with turbo and new loom, sump, inlet and ecu. is it worth 5k for the lot ?

 

I think you will struggle to sell that for 5k really.

why would you sell it you gong to get a new one built instead of just strappin on a gt 35 ?

well its better bulit to cope with circa 550 bhp than mine is. its a top speed car and thats what im after. my shell is cleaner but euans has had exstensive engine work.

 

couldnt you just get your engine upto spec? especially if your shells cleaner? it doesnt look like your to far behind in engine power anyway?

 

Buy Euans, then swap the engines over and then sell Euans on again.

 

so why dont you put his box and engine in yours and sell his shell and other parts !! and if there is and cheap compomotives in there

 

peak power about 100 hp down but mid range is big difference. my car is ideal for standard drivetrain and more torque or power and would become unreliable. my mind is made up always wanted euans car and said to myself if he ever sells il buy it for the right money.

 

well that is a possibility if i break my car and keep the shell. im not sure yet. i think euans is pretty good though for a 20 year old car he just doesnt try to hide anything.

 

so what price do we think a 470 hp 350 lbft cos engine live mapped and ready to go straight in a car. complete ready to bolt to gearbox and go.

 

cheap at for k really a 2nd hand standard engine costs alot,if some1s got a good shell you would have a fast cheap car.

 

do what you said swap engine,gearbox,ecu,loom,exhaust,cooler etc over and sell euans shell,with all your bits for £7000?

 

+if your swaping over cooler youl need to get the welder out as the crossmember needs out and back in

euans shell is in vgc for the year mate,solid underneath,all doors clean etc

I'm guessing your car is rather tidy and Euans although good condition for its age is unlikely to look as nice so I would swap your engine into his and sell it back off that way.

You are essentially just buying a normal Saph with a powerful engine, the gearbox isn't that much to purchase and it still runs a stock diff, its a bargain at 10k but with what you already have I'd be more inclined to just build one to a similar spec after you have sold off your T4 and the other bits.

Either way it sounds like there is another seriously rapid white Saph coming to town

I'd for the money you'd spend buying Euans car, you could have yours to the same spec.

never exhaust is £1500, autronic 2k ! bottom end, head etc and ive got mine to sell

 

exhaust £1500, bottom end is well specced up as is head. say gearbox is £200 then £500 for recon then adaptor plate, alter prop and linkage and new stick assembly it all adds up. bigger brakes. running autronic so i can use mark shead aswell now much closer than msd. and sell my car. would cost circa 6k minimum to get even close to euans car its a no brainer imo

 

exhaust is near £1900 now

 

and power wise transmission losses are about 17 % on rwd so at 505 at the wheels thats a 591 bhp engine

 

understandable its an awesome exhaust.

 

it sure is, tom did a cracking job, first class fabrication, he made mine too...

Just looking back here mate and what i said sounds bad. I just meant that you seem to have your saff just the way you like it and it seems pretty immaculate from your pictures.

Rather than change euans car to the way you like it i thought it would be easier to swap engines.

wont know 100% til i pick euans up but im 99% certain its clean enough to leave it as it is and sell mine. mine is very very clean but not mint (i view mint as clean as brand new)
