Default What is considered low oil and fuel pressure?

Gents,

I am ordering some oil and fuel pressure warning lights and have a choice of sensors. For a 400 BHP YB, at what pressures should the sensors be triggered?

Thanks in advance.

the standard cossie oil light on the dash come on at 7psi i believe, but that´s more of a "your engine is fucked" light rather than a warning light

oil pressure depends on what oil & pump you are using and the age of the engine
also oil pressure is affected by how hot or cold oil is, and if the engine is at idle or not

not exactly sure on fuel pressure so cannot comment

also, go for a mechanical oil pressure gauge and make sure the sender is the same make as the gauge itself as they have different resistance if mixed and matched...(i found this out to my cost )

Many thanks. The engine is around 15K old and has a standard oil pump. My main concern is to protect the engine when the oil is warm, i.e. on track

it really depends on what oil you run?

i recomend you use 10-50 pro s Silkolene, its pricey but a very very good oil. contact Oil Man off here and you´ll get a discount if you mention Passion Ford

if you are tracking the car you need to be careful of oil temp. it maybe worth fitting a oil cooler if the track is the intended use
