What is a factory standard bottom end good for power wise?

What is the weak link in the engine when tuning?

What will a stock head flow to?

What level would you change rods and pistons for tougher items?

What cost to achieve a genuine 400bhp?

What can a standard turbo deliver?

are you talking 2wd or 4wd and how old is the std engine

Answers
1 500 ish
2, money!!
3 400 ish
4 pistons when or if going for compression change
5 blues or greys, chip, actuator, good fuel supply, cost wise dunno
6 t3 2wd +4x4 320 max, t34 escort cos 400 if fitted with 360 thrust bearing

assuming 2wd standard

crank = never heard of one failing

rod & pistons = 500hp

head = 420hp

t3 = 320hp ish

block will need changing from a 205 to a non turkish 99 200 block between 450-500hp, that is the weak link

above assuming the engine & turbo is in good condition to begin with, so i would say a standard bottom end is good for 450hp ish

although opinions differ, i´d want to change the head gasket

cost depends on what you can do yourself, new or second hand parts?
