think they should ban all the little trinkets, they will never look as nice as they used to,jordans 1998 and williams 96 cars was the nicest for years, they need to loose front downforce so they can overtake and not get fucked with dirty air,but not get ugly

1980's JPS (Turbo era! upto 1200bhp from a 1.5 litre engine!!)
1990's Benneton

Personally,
I think they should stop being a bunch of poofs and have every known aid on the cars - active aero, active suspension, traction, turbos - the lot !!
They get paid enough and its meant to be the pinnacle of engineering ffs

Jesus wept you lot are a bunch of dumb fuckers
The Scalectrix cars mentioned had a JPS Lotus and a March 6 wheeled test car that I dont think actually raced competitively in F1 - I have the same set too . The idea was to have 4 driven rear wheels the same size as the fronts so that aerodynamic drag was reduced compared to the monster balloon rear tyres of the era whilst retaining or even increasing rear contact patch.
The Tyrell was far more successful and even won a race or two I think. It was built for similar reasons except the wheels were even smaller because they were replacing the fronts which are obviously smaller than the reas. The double advantage at the front is that you also reduce the frontal area and have a bigger effect on the drag of the whole car as a result.
I think this was also around the time when 4wd was being tested and the whole lot got binned in F1's ever increasing technical handbook !!

That's the 2010 car, in the interests of driver safety the FIA have decided to run remote controlled cars, no driver required anymore.
This will also help the low budget teams as there are no driver costs.
Extra fuel tank where the driver was, so no dangerous pit stops either.

ferrari also tried a six wheeler, amid huge secrecy. basically everyone was having a go, to see if the benefits were worth it.... as far as i know, 4 wheels worked out the best
