who has it then and how do you deal with it
after reading dojj's post about it I can relate to some of his issues, I for example have only slight problems when a word is started with the same letter that the previous word ended with I only put 1 letter in there such as for example
it is taying
instead of; it is staying

i don't mean to sound disrespectful - i am genuinely wondering, can you overcome the problems with typing if you concentrate on each word instead of the full sentence?
i'm not suggesting a solution or anything and i understand that what i said isn't practical but was just wondering if that is possible or if its too difficult to control.

My son Kai has it. He gets very frustrated by it and its very difficult for him to express himself fully in his English lessons because of it ![Sad](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)
As a parent I really don't think enough is done within schools to help children with this kind of learning difficulty. I know of a programme which is used with children with Dyslexia in Cumbria which has been very successful and in some cases has helped to 'cure' some of the childrens problems. I tried to talk to Kai's headteacher about the programme but I was fobbed off with the usual excuses as to why the school didn't recognise those kind of 'treatments'.
I was actually considering taking Kai to get him tested to see how severe his Dyslexia is and if there was anything else that we could do for him. What's really upsetting is when his teachers say that he'll only ever reach a certain level of education because of his learning difficulty. I obviously want Kai to reach his full potential at school and have the same opportunities that other children have with regards to where his education will lead him but it appears that the schools just aren't interested in going out of there way to help them and they are just willing to let them do enough to get by in life.

Kai gets his B's and D's back to front all the time and he often spells things as you say them. We can practice spellings for ages and he will get them right every time but then he'll forget and revert back to his old ways of spelling them. Also when we are reading a book together he'll recognise a word on one page and then on another page the same word will appear and he'll forget what it says.
