Why go all inclusive when its cheap enough and better to eat/drink out?
£1500 translates roughly into $2600 dollars which is plenty to get a hotel and then eat like a king!
Go to Smith and Wollensky at South Beach for the best steak and service of your life. Infact you could probably eat there most nights for your budget.
You would probably die of meat poisoning but hey..........

It's all over the place on South Beach, I recommend Crowbar (sounds it but it isn't a gay bar) Bed and Nicki Beach. I presume that because your going in March your going for the Winter Music Confernence which is when I went and it's great but remember to get WMC passes as you can't get into some places without them.

OK, serious head on now.
Ive been there loads and would go for something a bit more central. Damn I miss being 2 hours away from Miami!!!
Also, think about hiring a car and maybe staying at a couple of places like downtown Miami and maybe the Keys??
Its not the best but plenty nice enough. Try the Holiday Inn Port of Miami Downtown. Its your basic holiday inn but is well positioned. If you book ask for a port facing room high up. The views across the whole Miami port are very good.
You can walk across the road to the Bayside Market Place where there is tonnes to do and places to eat and drink. Its always really lively.
Your about 5 mins walk from the American Airlines Arena too and will no doubt be able to catch an NBA game. Even if your not into basketball, go buy the big foam pointy finger and get down with the crazy crowd!!!
Your about 5 mins drive there in Taxi from southbeach too so you can go so the clubs and bars on Ocean drive easy.
Another cooooooool place to go in Miami to chill is drive out to Key Biscayne across the bay. About 20 mins and a great drive out across the port on the William Powell bridge and the causeway. Carry on across Virginia Key onto Key Biscayne and head right to the end to Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park. (after youve stopped at the Winn Dixie just before the entrance for a cool box, ice and some chilled beers of course).
Once your there head for the quiet secluded beach on the far reaches of the key. Its just such a cool chilled beach to hang out for the day. Crystal clear still water too. Just watch out for the Racoons though, they steal your food!! If you like fishing grab a cheap rod from a supermarket and walk round in front of the old lighthouse. Some great marine fish to be caught in the rocks there with some worms!!!!
For serious shopping, head out of main Miami to the out of town malls. Much better.
From Miami you have the Keys in reach too. Its a long way to Key West and personally I would go as far as Key Largo and head to John Penekamp State Reef Park. Do a snorkel trip out to one of the reefs. Great fun and you see some cool fish!
Lastly as your into cars, you could head out to Homestead Miami speedway as there maybe some racing on there too. Mix it up with the Rednecks drinking Milwaukee Best and watching Nascar!!!!!
If you do hire a car and move around, maybe consider a 2.5 hour drive across Alligator Alley to the Gulf coast and visit Naples for a couple of days on the beach too!
That should be enough to get you started!
