ive always used mach 3 turbo, but recently been giving me a sore face, i then started going barbers to get a proper shave but thats getting a little pricey these days and i need to be clean shaven each morning for work

tried the fusion that people rave about and im now sore again

so have they changed there blades in the last few years and not as good,,,,,, or is there something wrong with my face

last week i was using the missus "venus" and that worked ok,,,, apart from not close enough under the nose

any ideas ?

Wilkinson Sword Quattro for Lee and the womens one for me, Lee gets quite a sore face but i think its the shaving foam not the razor. Got sensitive foam and not gel and its much better.

on a serious note i only use an electric shaver (remington). blades tend to bring me out in a rash for some reason.

oh and i use a Nivea for men cream every day to try to stop and irritation!!

actually i use gel now on my face,, never thought about that part pps:

guess foam again it is, the gel gives me a cool chilled feel when i shave though

mach 3 i used to swear by, on and just found out its not venus but some other type with soap built into it when you shave,,, aint got a clue what there called though but the soap part is soo big i cant get under me nose

my old boss used to RAVE about them bic disposables,,, used them every day and recomends em to everyone,,,, he must have a fucking face like stone as they take layers of skin of my face,,, one shave and i must have enough skin removed for a skin graph

i always shave the night previous and use e45 cream, when i get up next day theres no stubble just soft skin. i do recomend using a none sented cream like.

fusion is good with the right gel, but the blades are SOOOO expensive and dont last long! i've gone back to mach3 as its ALMOST as good and less then half the price!

Merkur 34C is a single blade, proper razor blade razor.

A bit more expersive to buy the razor but the blades are cheaper. Alot cheaper like 30 blades for Ł6.

tbh not that bothered about the price

i used to pay 10 quid a week for a shave in the barbers so 10 quid for 4 blades,, if they last me a month its a bonus,,,, unless its making me sore as fuck like it is

i cant use a leccy shaver as it dont cut close enough, i like to feel like ive been shaven

besides they seem to make my face greasey and got loads of spots,,,, i bought some super phillips or remington one a about a year or so ago for 130 quid,,, was ment to be the nuts and it was WANK,,, not close enough shave so my old man got it for christmas

ginge, give the fusion a try tho with the sensitive skin gel, it's pretty good. dont think the power one makes a difference but for the extra Ł1 or whatever it is for the razor it cant hurt... lol

i get very sore aswell

been using king of shaves gel for years and its fantastic i normally buy the orange one about 4 quid a pot but lasts a while.

just had a change thou as i went shopping and they were out.

im now using L'oreal men expert

skin caring shave gel
anti irritation for sensitive skin

and i shit you not its awsome

first thing i noticed was i was able to do a closer shave first time around, and this helps alot as there was no need to go over places again or shaving up causes big soreness but not this with stuff it really is impressive.

if your anything like me this will help.

and i also swear by fussion blades that also helps.

i would have said its more the cream / gel your using thats leaving you sore

try different ones, the guys at work are all raving about some small pot of oil is ment to be pukka i will try it to see think its called kingofshaves small black pot its expensive but they recon lasts forever as you only need a small amount

I use one of those vibrating Mach3's. it's the bollocks, and the battery has lasted 2 years with no sign of fading!! Much, much better than a normal mach3.

do you wet your face abit before applying the gel or foam?

make sure that u wet your face with HOT water, so the pores can open and you can have more comfortable.
secondly try not to shave from your neck to your face, try shaving from your face to your neck only lool.
I used to have sores aswell, tried it and now not everybitof redness on my face

make sure u shave downwards not upwards mate, and ull be fine

oww and I use the gillette disposable

i use a trimmer every week

if i need to shave i can get that baby smooth look for the day, but then my face is fucked for the next week to 10 days

it happens if i electric or wet shave and regardless of what i use to mosturise o faom it up or any other w to get it shaved close

tends to affect mostly my neck rather than my face though but i can't just shave one bit and not the other as it gives me that "terrorist" look

I use Gillette Mach 3 turbo (I get them from ebay in bulk and there so much cheaper than the shops). I alternate between King of Shaves gel and gillettes sensitive gel.

An electric shaver just seems to sand my face down and bics make it look like Edward Scissorhands attacked me

I've been meaning to get one of those Turkish shaves done. A place in Yateley does a haircut and a shave for Ł15. Oh and I'm another one who has to shave everyday else I'll look like Chewbacco or whatever his name is from star wars

I 2nd this and was going to write the same before I read it was already on the thread. By far the best foam that I have used, and I don't get any irritated skin unlike before when using gillette, nivea or King of shave, all of which used to result in me getting cut. It is by far the best.

I've always used a wet shave - mainly Mach 3 Turbo's & used King of Shaves products or Gillette Fusion gel.

I then swapped over to that new Remington wet shave jobbie (with the trimmer on the other end) but really couldnt get to grips with it.

So I went & bought myself a Philishave at the weekend to see how I get on with it - I was sick of the rash the wet shaves left me with as usually on the 2nd day it was much worse & left me with little spots/rash on my neck. I shave everyother day so when I had to shave the spots where there & it just compounded the problem!!!

Fingers crossed the Philishave will come up trumps!!

philishave was what i bought,,, was wank im afraid

i think its the gel as thats the only thing ive not changed but changed from when i used to get a shave every day

im using fusion stuff at the moment as they was on special in tescos when i was buying my berocca and so thought i would try it as the MACH3 was letting me down

ill try a few creams, ive got king of shaves shaving oil but that makes me greasey after,,,, yes im a fussy fucker
