Need a good boost controller that does in gear boost..whats a good one???
I had a VERY big moment on a straight country lane running 2.4bar peak and 1.9 held in 3rd gear...fooking wheelspinningand then hitting a slight bump..back end out

I realistically am just losing loads of speed with all the wheelspin in lower gears so i am gonna have to get it boost controlled in gear to tame the thing...and there was i thinking i should bung a GT35 on it
![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
Have i got too much power for RWD or in there any mods i can do to increase traction??..I am lowered/shims/polyraced/uprated shocks/17's on 215's...i dont want a grp a beam as the shims do the same thing essentially without the price tag

well nothings stopping you from pressing it further in situations where it wont light up the wheels...
what you need is TRACTION CONTROL (and not these wank launch control boxes, proper traction control)

Std diff isnt up to much.
And crappy normal road tyres and skinny 215 wide is just silly for 400bhp+ belive me, been there, lol.
Look at the width of RWD production car tyres with 400bhp or more....

Phil,
The shims are NOT a replacement for a proper Grp A beam, so please don't talk such bollocks
. They HELP tyre wear, they do not improve traction in the same way a proper beam does, as the wheels still proscribe an arc in compression (but remain parrallel with a Grp A beam)
.
Your only cure is: Grp A beam, 8" rear wheels, some decent (sticky) tyres, plated / ATB diff and some driving lessons at Bedford on how to exploit the car to the best of your ability.
Sadly, I know you will HONESTLY believe that you are right and that none of my advice is relevant to you, but then again everyone knows you're a delusional fuckwit
. Follow my advice and you will then wonder what all the fuss is about, ignore it at your crashing peril
. Powerful Cossies bite if the rear suspension is not modified.

The shims help for certain, but more with toe than squat induced camber. Im sure if you do a search you will come up with a far more technical description to help you out.

Mine could easily light em up in 5th in the wet even doing it the gentle way, starting from really low revs and letting the build up slow, even running as low as 25psi if i remember right.

...i think i may go back to stage 3 to get my grip back and maybe spare my life
It pains me to say this but i think in the New Year its gonna have to be *holds head down in shame* a RHD Grp A Escos shell

Phil,
No I did not, I said they improve the toe as per the beam (so improve tyre wear) and as an added bonus, traction is improved over standard
.
However, not in the same way a Grp A beam does
. Obviously the shims are miles better than NOTHING, but are also as far behind a Grp A rear beam as the standard set up is behind the shimmed one
.

I see the 'ultimate' road going Cossie has some teething problems...
like I said to you before... to go fast you need T R A C T I O N !!!!
So still think your car is faster down the lanes than mine or faster in any road situation as you have said before
Before you go 4x4, why not try Mikes advice? Rod uses that set up for 600bhp+++ so I am sure it will be ok for yours

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
![Default](https://passionford.com/forum/images/icons/icon1.gif)
What tyres have you got on it now? And what diff? I converted my mates 2wd saph to greys / t34, was just a wheelspin machine, i made him get some proper tyres (215/40 Yoko's) and he broke the std rear diff on it's 1st outing, he got another std diff and broke that within 100 miles. On the cack tyres it did 1000's of miles, sideways for most of them
, traction is your friend

215 yoko's had a new diff recently but use proper oil in it now and seems fine so far.
Phil its not a dig at Karl
He gave me a safe map to get it started and was going to tweak it for me with my data...but instead i tweaked it myself!...I dont see thats a dig when he gave me what i asked for....it was good off boost though!!!

Ryan...on my lo comp 8 green set up it could only run 1.6 bar in 4th /5th due to surge.....but 2.3 bar held in third okish after a little surge but didnt feel as quick in that gear cause of less torque...that had around 440 ish this has the same i'd guess but loads more torque going from 7-1 to 8-1 plus mapping it myself properly.

you must have a very very heavy foot i think phill
im running 225 wide toyo proxis on mine and yes it will spin in 3rd if i really try to do it but your throttle is variable for a reason
try not just pushing it straight to the floor every time or just stop being a pussy and just drive through it

ZOO Rear beam/proper diff, 235 wide Dunlop or similar sticky tyres, Leda coilovers etc, that will get you grip & then you just hit the throttle & it just goes.
0-100 7.1 & 0-150 13.3 says i aint losing much time spinning wheels.

i notice the nre compomotice Mo-6's in 18" do a 10J version - 235s will go nicely on an 8J, so i rekon u could push 285s on the back - might need some arch extensions though
