Default Sensible NOS question!!!!!

Hi peeps..

From reading about it and speaking to other people, i realise that the ignition will hav eto be retarded to a certain degree for when it runs ON GAS so that it don;t fook engine up and also to get the best out of it BUT i take it i don;t need to run this degree of retard when OFF GAS??

if so, will the engine run like a pig when running the level of retard OFF GAS and is it nesaseary to get a device so that i can retard the ignition to the required degree for running ON or OFF GAS?!??!?!?!

Help me.....I am confused.....not just sexually this time!!

Thansk for any replys

KEITH

wizards of nos do a digital controller called a maximiser this will retard your ignition when on gas and revert back to normal when not also does loads of other functions

yer its only the minimiser that doesnt do that also the maximiser has loads of functions like % build up and % build up over time and so much more. i really have looked into highpower and their products really do seem to be the best out there but thats a different argument

does anyone know if there are products out there that purely retard the ignition at the flick of a switch and revert it back to normal as soon as its turned off????????

cheers

thinking about it, im sure you could bodge up something that makes the ACT sensor or knock sensor max out so the ECU retards the timing for you? maybe sum1 like simon @ secs or stu@msd can suggest somemtihng...

The following is from Trev who runs & owns Highpower (wizard of Nos)

You only need to worry about retarding the timing on n/a engines, as turbo engines run retarded from n/a figures and the cooling from the nitrous means you could actually advance the timing on a turbo or supercharged engine.
Regards

ps. I run a 150shot with no retard & advanced slightly for 200mph run, so Trev is correct as usual.

Most aftermarket ecu's can run multiple ignition maps selected from an
external input which is turned on during NOS usage !
In this way, ignition (and fuel) can be adjusted correctly for ALL operating conditions.
