Default S2 Help....

How do you disconnect the dials on the s2? do you have to take the whole front/top panel off before you can disconnect this? Ive taken the black frontal face off and unscrewed the dials so it can pull out, but there is a wire at the back i cant get disconnected and its very short so i cant pull the dials out onto my lap to see how to disconnect it,any help would be greatly appreciated.

That wire is your speedo cable, just keep wiggling it and it will come out.

The speedo cable has a funny plastic clip. Remove the trip computer and if you've got skinny hands you can reach through there to unclip the speddo cable. Don't forget the two wiring multi plugs before you pull it right out.

It should push in and the cable should come free. Don't just pull on it. As you grip the plastic collar it should have give in it in one direction. Squeeze it in this direction and the cable should slide off the speedo mechanism.

The wiring multi plus will become apparant once the speedo cable is removed. They are dead easy to remove just take a little care.

there's a nack to getting the speedo cable off.

u have to push it towards the clocks then either tilt up or down to release then pull out.

The speedometer and the odometer are all part of teh same unit. You can't disconnect one without disconnecting the other

how do you mean? as long as you push the cable back on properly when you fit them again you'll be fine...

Or you can do what I did last summer, drive around with no dash

not a 'limited mileage policy' is it?
as above thought it can be arkward to get the spedo cable off but with some effort you will get there and as oranoco says the cable works both the spedo and the odometer
