my mate has just bought a red 88 series 2 (was hooked after driving mine ) and has noticed the vin number (letters) is different to whats in the summer 2008 fast ford buying guide it should be (according to f.f)
WFOBXXGCABK J but my mates is WFOBXXGCABK A does this mean it is`nt an rst or is this normal?

May have been re shelled at some point when it was fairly new??

as far as i know its hpi clear? can anyone else shed any light on this.

Try putting the full VIN in HERE and see what it says.

KJ is January 1989 and KA is July 1989. Both would be 1988-spec.

1990-spec started with chassis numbers from August 1989.

try`d the link and it just says its a 3door hatch built in germany in july 89 on assembly point c.
