The End Of The World On Wednesday

they are sposed to be only testing it about NOW,however they won't be making black holes today, that's in October sometime,I read.
One of the scientist has done calculations, that it will take from the time of creating a black hole 4years before the earth is sucked up it's own ass anyway.

as said today is calibration day,and yes its around 4 years if a black hole is created for the earth to be eaten.
let us pray
dear god if you are real please show us a sign by putting a stop to this ridiculous experiment which could prove your non existance and get us all killed.
amen!

Dingy will be on any second to dispute that claim because you've obviously quoted an ass dyno figure TUV approved engine dyno figures only

the question as to what happend moments after the "big bang" and also why there is less anti-matter than there is mass, but when theoretically there should be equal ammounts that cancell each other out...

a black hole is just something that COULD appear from the expiriment, they've been doing stuff like this at cern for 50 or so years, and have come a long way. this is just another expiriment. a big one, but just another one of theyre expiriments at the end of the day. the world wont end, if a black hole is formed, it will collapse on itself in less than 1000th of a second.
been ookin into this as i find it interesting was doing physics in school

check here if you want to read up a little on it, its quite usefull

Black holes possess gravitational fields so strong that nothing can escape them, not even light. They normally form when the remains of a dead star collapse under their own gravity, squeezing their mass together. Although black holes can't be seen, astronomers infer their existence by the gravitational effects they have on gas and stars around them.

the particle will go arround the machine which is 27.3 km round 11000 odd times a second so if it got half way round it would be done in a,(gets calculator out) .0000045 of a second lol wonder what th 0-60 is on that ??

guys, here's an idea... those of us that don't have degrees in particle physics stop making assumptions on people creating black holes and destroying the universe?
neither us, nor the sun newspaper we've all read have ANY fucking idea whats going on, so lets stop drawing stupid conclusions
oh and comments like "what are they gonna learn from this" are so fucking stupid it's untrue

and the point of a discussion board is?
you dont have to have a degree to known their is a very low chance of creating a black hole that will consume earth in around 4 years,of course if you look at the benefits it should outweigh that risk.
very interesting but if you look at the folk that calculated the odds they are not young,so not got much to loose if it goes tits up.but that is being a pesimist lol

taken from here
Two beams of subatomic particles called 'hadrons' either protons or lead ions will travel in opposite directions inside the circular accelerator, gaining energy with every lap. Physicists will use the LHC to recreate the conditions just after the Big Bang, by colliding the two beams head-on at very high energy. Teams of physicists from around the world will analyse the particles created in the collisions using special detectors in a number of experiments dedicated to the LHC.
There are many theories as to what will result from these collisions, but what's for sure is that a brave new world of physics will emerge from the new accelerator, as knowledge in particle physics goes on to describe the workings of the Universe.

How to invent cool new stuff. Star Trek fans the world over are wanking themselves stupid on the though of Warp engines and Transporters and so on.
Apparently, it's already changing the way medical imaging works, so doctors will be able to help people with horrible illness type things.
Not to mention they will start to understand the fundementals of how our universe began, without having to revert to the bible

Pmsl at all this talk of black hole's
Micro black hole's are only theoretical, none have ever been observed. Natural black hole's form occasionally when stars 2.5-10 times the mass of our sun collapse and while in theory any sufficiently compressed mass could form a black hole, in order for it to be self sustaining it would have to have a mass roughly equivalent to that of the moon.
That said, im perfectly willing to start taking bets that the earth wont end in 4 years time due to a black hole created at CERN. And even if it does, i just wont pay out

There are some real goons on here
how can you be so passionately against an experiment, yet not be interested enough to actually do any reading up about it or have a clue what you are so passionately against?
I can't wait for some results to come out of this
