all this hype weeks before hand, and still no bruce willis or dramatic music to start the news with means i think it's all a hoax and it's just a good way to get the french to fund the new swiss underground network

Alleged cost so far of 4.4Billion quid! got to ask, could the money of been better spent else where rather than a guess at what will happen? surely 4.4 Billion in further cancer work would have been better and a benefit to more people NOW?

could it be that huge magnetic they have under the ground in europe some where. Its suppose to recreate a black hole. They say it will be limited by the power, so it'll only be very tiny and only last for a few seconds...hmmm
I wish i could be there when it swallows this planet inside out and back to front i'd like to slap the guy who said that with a wet kipper.

In theory the world could be destroyed but i'll rather put the kettle on and get the biscuits out.
Damn it, i've just read that. Thats what i was on about- I think. Don't quote me on that. lol

Er, yeah they did....... Didn't the Church try to discredit Charles Darwin for trying to prove evolution? As far as religous types are concerned wasn't the earth created like, 5,000 years ago becuase a fictional creature called God wanted something to play with?

The big bang theory is that the universe was created billions of years ago... By a big bang, and no fictional beings were involved by the sounds of it

when the bible was written, they werent any scientist, so how come they could come up with the big bang mate?! the story of adam and eve is there for us to give us a message, that god created everything. im sorry if you cant understand, but you got it wrong saying that mate.

I see. I understand the point behind the bible, which is a kind of moral guide based on the stories of the time, so people would stop being shitty to each other, but I'm pretty sure the bible tells us god created the world, not the universe, in 7 days.

As far as I know the big bang was less the a few seconds..... I mean if God created everything, which is alot of stuff, why do I have to pay so much tax?? Surely because I'm a fucking brilliant bloke things would be easy for me?

Okay, I can't argue with your statement that God made the big bang, because no-one knows what made the big bang. But 2008 is where we are because the romans picked the date for the Birth of Christ and started the calendar there.

this really pisses me off, risking humanity.ok may not be a risk but it COULD, they are dealing with the unknown at this level of approach imho.

look at the downside if they prove the big bang theory, religion out the window?some folk have spent their lives beleiving in God then along come a few tefal headed scientists and blow the fucker out of the sky.if their unknowingness dont kill us their is going to be some extra folk on the dole queue including the pope.

lol but in all seriousness its a very worrying time,we had 40 million years before the sun would melt us and a need to settle on other planets to survive now we got mad scientists to add to the sun melting us,holy wars and mad cow disease. lol Eating british beef never felt as safe

the bible does NOT say the world was created in 7 days the word for day in anchient hebrew is the same as the word for "age" now re-read genesis putting the world "age" in instead and it makesa shitload more sense

you'd think theyd have fixed this typo by now

Today will be interesting many many people watch/listen and wait. 97% of the population never even heard about subatomic particles, and 99.99% does even have clue what cern does and what their looking for lol.

The things that those guys do happens all the time up in our upper atmosfere, only now things are controlled and concentrated. ( we get bombarded with highly charged electrical parts every second.)

and well, if the higgens particle isn't found (right away) then at least we'll benefitting of their effort, in near future i-net could easy be 1000times quicker. They came up with the grid, to distribute all the information quick enough wich will be collected. (Did you know those guys at cern invented internet as we know it way back in the early 90's for such exact reasons?)

The lhc is for various reasons. google around like? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Higgs_boson

ps. and why do we fear things we don't know? to get somewhere you'll have to make first steps....
