Might aswell jump onto your post Paul if thats ok.
For the Stack fuel level do you need to run the sensor wiring the length of the car or just tie into the original wiring for the orighinal gauge behind the dash.
Also is there a site to find out the sizes needed for the wheel sensor.

From the single wire behind the dash mate

With the wheel sensor size, each tyre wears and has different pressures adjust the size aswell so you need to measure the actual circumerance of your tyre your self. I did mine with a tape measure, I then compared it to the GPS on the Tom Tom and adjusted it very slightly till it was spot on

All taken care of for you with full destructions on how to wire it all in .

The only thing that IS tricky / pain in the arse, is that you have to COMPLETELY drain your tank and then refill it in 6 litre increments (10 of them, with the last 5-6litres you tell it that it is full) and tell the Stack that this equates to 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54, 60 and 65 litres. Once you have done this once - job done. However, MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW THE PROCESS EXACTLY, as it is a real bitch if you fuck up, as you have to drain the tank and start again .

Yes, how else do you think that the Stack knows how much fuel is in the car ?

You have to remember that the float that is connected to the gauge just gives off a voltage signal from 0-5 which is then interpretted by the fuel gauge as to what position it is in and how that equates to fuel quantity. As the Stack is more accurate, you have ten measuring points to program in, which it will then extrapolate between to give a precise figure in litres (rather than just full, ¾ full, ½ full, ¼ full and empty). This means that you have to do the process above, so that the Stack knows what position the float is in. Obviously it is individual car dependent, as the float gets moved when the fuel pumps are changed, so Ben's figures might be close, but they won't be accurate.

Bizzare way of doing it, as the Stack has a facility for you to program in the reserve fuel level anyway . As in, you can set the reserve light to come on at any level you like. I drained my tank and told the Stack to trigger the fuel light on at 10 litres (similar to the standard car).

What wire behind the dash is used for the fuel gauge sensor, one of the ones from the multi plug or the two bullet connectors.

mike, what happens if you have a 50l tank lol did you say it needs 10 levels, so 5l a time if it is 50l lol

think the fuel level gauge in the pro alloy tank is a VDO one, i do hope this will work?

ive not even opened the gauge yet lol, so not read the instructions lol

oh, how long does it take to do, and dont the people in the petrol station look at you a bit funny lol?

The above info is for the ST8100 range, you would have to follow the destructions for the 52mm item (I've not yet fitted one) .

I've never done it at a petrol station and if there was a big queue, I doubt they would be best pleased .

Oops, should have been in the destructions. You just need to connect the Stack wire to the brown with black stripe wire in the multi-plug in the dash, which is the fuel sender wire .
