I think the real truth of this is that the F1 governing body wants the contest to go down to the wire at the last round , having the C/ship sewn up before this is bad for the sport , bad for the sponsors and bad for spectator figures . It was like all of their Xmas's coming at once , the opportunity to narrow the points gap and stretch the controversy until the last race , and its worked like a dream for them as everyones now talking about it and your sure as hell going to watch everything until the season ends , its really that simple .

This is waht i posted in the other thread, this is how i saw it, so i really dont see why he has been penalised.......

Lewis was up kimi's arse on the corner before the chicane, went for a move on the inside, kimi shut the door (fair enough imo), lewis HAD to cut the corner or end the race for both of them (again fair enough), got in front, kimi got past/or was let past (nobody knows which one, apart from lewis and kimi, so no point arguning about that), lewis was up kimi's arse (like he was before the chicane incident), and overtook him on the inside line fair and square (with maybe a mistake by kimi taking the outside line). So i really dont see where the advantage was gained because he was up his arse before the chicane, and up his arse after the chicane.

Kimi made the mistake by taking the outside line and leaving the inside line open, lewis took his chance to take the lead. Simple really.

No advantage was gained by lewis HAVING to cut the chicane. He was up his arse before it and up his arse after it! Kimi's mistake and a bit of skill and quick thinking by lewis put him infront, nothing else.

what happened after the bus stop / first corner is irrelevant. doesn't matter that kimi spun off so it doesn't matter anyway. an incident needs to be investigated and the rules applied to it, but in this case i think the judgement is wrong and lewis did concede any advantage that may have been gained by cutting the chicane

I think the best writeup I have found regarding this subject is on www.itv.com/f1 James Allens Belgian GP Verdict. It seems to explain the situation quite well, with vey little bias.

I am a mad massa fan, and even i feel the judgement is harsh, Massa has 5 races left to win or lose, fair and square. The point is, these two have already outclassed the field this year and would take it down to the wire anyway, without divine intervention from the gods that be (FIA)

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6ovii_wwwformula

in car footage where you can clearly see he is outbreaking him on SEVERAL corners before hand, so why would the end of the straight be any different.

to me it looks like lewis was shocked when they went into the chicane i cannot believe how hard kimi braked.

and he done the same at the end of the straight

Nice find,

Not trying to blow my own trumpet but thats simply the video evidence of exactly how I described it earlier !!

I would just point out one very clear and telling point that probably demonstrates the truth more than anything else which I dont think anyone has put forward yet in this way.....

Ferrari themselves did NOT report the manouvre for the stewards to investigate. I know people have said this already, but if you think about it for a moment, they are the first team to normally be in their asking their protectors at Ferrari International Assistance for...er....assistance !!! and in this instance EVEN THEY didnt think there was a case for Lewis to answer else they would have been the ones requesting an ivestigation, but it has been confirmed by several different sources that they did not instigate this it was purely down to race control and the event organisers.

Pretty much open and shut IMHO of course

im still not in agreement.kimi's 2 moves?i see a feint and a move imo.he didnt even move any where near a car width.he wobbled the car to make lewis think he was going that way hoping he would take the outside line.fair play lewis didnt fall for it and went the way he left open.

as for the approach, lewis wasnt anywhere near ahead of kimi enough.kimi was inside and lewis was a nose cone up.not enough to get round the outside at all.he shouldve yeilded.
