Turbocharger advice - Series 2 Escort
Last week I noticed there was a considerable amount of oil being sprayed from the dump valve on my RST onto the underside of the bonnet. Upon closer inspection and removal of the various boost hoses it seems they are all full of oil! It was a bit of a mess to be honest and from what I can gather one of the seals is knackered in the turbocharger I've checked the other breather hoses for blockages and all seems fine.
Need some advice really on what to do from here. I've stripped the front of the car now so that I can give the front panel a good clean and paint (I'll add some pics to the Restoration page) but I'm not sure what route to go with regards to replacing the turbo. Currently the car is running a Superchip with -31 Actuator and holding about 15psi boost-wise. Would you recommend a Hybrid turbocharger or should I stay with the standard version as apart from the chip there's no other serious mods. Am also thinking about a Pro Alloy intercooler at the same time.
Would appreciate some advice, especially who to purchase the new turbocharger from
Cheers

PassionFord Post Whore!!
If u do plan on keeping it at 15 psi u should stick with standard but any more go for a hybrid think stage 2 is the norm try turbotechnics i havn`t had any probs from my turbo from them and they are well established

Thanks mate - if I were to buy a stage 2 would there be any disadvantages? Turbo lag? Just asking because if I'm going to have to fork out a few quid I may aswell uprate the part as I do plan on other sensible mods in the future

you need to do more than "think about" a bigger intercooler if you're running 15psi

Any advice appreciated!
