Default Anyone deal with wireless ethernet (business, not home)

need to have a chat with someone who knows a lot about the technologies of wireless ethernet stuff etc.

not the little home wireless router things, the proper gear for business etc. needs to work betwen 2 buildings, not just 2 rooms so would need pretty good signal strength etc...

also line of sight might be a problem, as to do that the equipment would have to go on the roof in that case, would be better to have it indoors, which means the signal's gotta get thu 2 brick walls and a distance of about 20-30meters

microwave transmitter :thumb:

we've used these before for backup connecitons to live datafeeds. were well pricey then.. nto sure what sort of cost you'd be looking at now.

You can actually get high power ariels to go on normal access point stuff, although here we use these mast looking things hanging out the ceiling and connect over a vpn client for security cos wep isn't really secure enough.

i only need peer to peer between two boxes by the way, dont need no wireless access points for users.

also dont microwaves have transmitters that go on the roof and need line of sight?

i think they had something similar at my school, but the connection would drop everytime a bird lands on the dish
