They are hard as nails mate not common for faults , rear springs break very common, alot of the 02 plates ect are starting to need rear brake pipes, engine & gearbox wise they are great
ive had 2 m3's but the 330's drive much better smoother & still quick
Ran a 330CI MSport for a couple of years and the only things that went wrong were the door seals & parking sensors (both common issues), the water pump and the boot release mech became detached from the boot.
I've only just bought an 03 registered 330Ci.
Compared to the ST model Fords I've owned in the past, it's in another league (not surprising considering it cost circa £30k new). Everything about the car is excellent - build quality shows through with no squeaks or rattles anywhere inside. The condition of the belies it's mileage which is 74k. It appears less than half the mileage.
The biggest bonus is the mpg - driving normally and taking a relaxed attitude round town has worked out to around 30 mpg. I owned an ST220 which could never manage more than 22-23mpg overall. This may have something to do with VE of V6's opposed to in-line sixes but I suspect it's a lot to do with the care BMW took with the mapping of the car.
Buy one and you'll be chuffed.
