does tex type bug you on here
Whats 'tex'?
Is it like that Tex-Mex food? Or do you mean 'Text'??
If you mean Text type, it bugs the shit out of most people, but on a more serious note, it doesn't help with the search functions built into the site.

I think it's OK to abbreviate certain words it's not a competition on who can type the best really.
It does get annoying when you have to spend more time figuring out what the fuck people are saying just because they used text talk.
I just speak English, I learnt it in school (badly) whereas I don't know text talk.

Type properly though, i mean how hard is it? i can understand abit in texting via mobile phones because it does take longer if you tap in all the letters(although i dont shorten much in mobile text) and certainly dont when i type on the pc.
you can type for example
i had a great time at donnington
or
i had a g8 time at donny
its so much simpler
Which would have saved more time, typing a t, and not typing out that whole reply, or missing the t, and typing that long reply?
i only asked if tex/text typing bugged people on here mmm i think i have my answer lol ,oooppps sorry i am laughing out loud ,
I hate it when people type the sounds from accents of some words so for example they will type "a know" instead of I know or "a bought a car today" instead of I bought..... Also the "badass" Americanised PF users are more annoying than text typers.
I'm just waiting for you lot to start calling people douchebags in a topic when the next arguement breaks out like they do on xbox live.

You had a "gate" time at donny? WTF is a "gate" time?
As for "txt-talk" I hate it. I shorten words on here, but only a few. Like THO instead of THOUGH, or use acronyms sometimes, but i cnt stand it wen u c ppl type like dis on a forum wen u ave a perfectly gud keyboard infront of u dat as all da buttons on it u need
It's just fucking lazy to be honest and makes even the oldest and most mature people look like 11yr old kids with no intelligence. It certainly doesn't give an air of education and sophistication at all.....

For example, most see it as fully acceptable to say;
"I went to Donny today and had a great time. Was a proper laugh, especially when I saw my mate fall off the track LOL!"
As opposed to;
"i wen 2 donny 2day n had a gr8 time. Proper laugh specially wen i saw my m8 fall off da trck LOL!"
Which of the above sentences a) makes more sense, b) is easier to read and c) makes you look like a child?
It bugs me. I agree with the majority that text type makes the operator appear to have a mental age in the single figures.
I'm sure teenagers developed text talk, hence it being such a lazy concept.

Now you're just being stupid. TXT makes far more sense as a shortened version of TEXT than TEX does..... And as for LOL and the like, those are acronyms - LOL, ROFL, STFU, etc are forum slang, or acronyms, and on the whole are perfectly acceptable.

It bugs the shit out of me and makes comments twice as hard to read, fuck me how hard is it to type a sentence properly !!
And why cant people start sentences with a fucking CAPITAL letter
And why cant people start sentences with a fucking CAPITAL letter
<Makes special effort>.
Whilst I know that sometimes my spelling and especially my (lack of,) use of capital letters is far from perfect, I'm just a lazy fucker so I never bother to correct the errors. Text type, however, does my head in completely. The thing I find most ironic is that the people most often found using it aren't even old enough to have had mobile phones at a time when it actually mattered how long your text messages are because you would be charged a significant amount more!
In my opinion the only reasons to use text type on an internet forum are that you're on a virtualy prehistoric dial up connection running at a speed below 16kbps or you're just plain lazy. Then again, I'm not exactly squeaky clean in that department either!

Use Firefox, it's got a built in spell checker
I cannot fucking stand text speak, pretty much everyone spent at least 11 years in the schooling system so why the fuck speak like a retard?
I always ignore anyone who sends me a text not spelt properly

no is the opposite of yes. know is to have some knowledge
i am a pedantic fucker when it comes to the written word, but i rarely bother with capital letters on a forum as i don't think it adds anything
or google toolbar

It tried to tell me "agonising" was spelt "agonizing" earlier..... Which, unless I am being a complete fucktard is the yank spelling and the UK spelling is with an S not a Z
