Just put an offer in on a place today, it will be a first house with my girlfriend. The Place is a tip, about 35 years behind in decor, perfect for a project, every room needs hammering into!

dunketh please tell me your a qualified electrician as if your not you do know all your house insurances are void in case of any large claim and hope you didn't just put floor boards on old cieling joists that were there as they are not designed to take weight and please stick to your day job as from what i see in pictures the only word i can think of is amateurish to say the least and if you ever come to sell that property please advise buyers that it's a house that jack fucked up,
Flooring joists were 7x3s, easily up to the job of supporting a floor, I'm not an idiot despite your assumption..
Lighting can be done by a private person and was done correctly. There's no requirement for an electrician.
Sockets were run on a ring. There are three doubles going to a 16amp fused spur. This was done by me but I will get a sparky in to rig it to the fusebox properly and certify if possible (just not got round to it yet).
Work was done on the cheap. I cant see anything wrong with it myself though obviously some edges are a little rough. (Day job is IT, no experience whatsoever in building - somewhat obviously)
Everything was done to regs, I did my research on this. Cabling was run so many inches from the floor (I don't remember exact value), correct boarding was used and everything is fully insulated.
So, imho you'll find your worst fears actually come to nothing.
As for Jack, I've not met him though I could have done with an extra pair of hands at the time.
p.s can you put up a picture of front of house so i can see if you can see where the horses were tied up waiting for you
Anyway, back on topic. The conversion that includes the outdoor walling is simply amazing, the bungalow 'extra floor' equally so.
Can I assume some of you lot are professional builders? The quality definitely shows through.
