Default Home Cinema Question

Right,

I have got a projector, and will be purchasing a Samsung home theater box (5.1 with built in DVD basically), I will also be using Sky+.

The Samsung doesnt do AV switching from what I gather, so, I will have to cable the Sky+ and the DVD separately to the projector (this is fine, it has two inputs).

Just wondering, I only have one Composite input, and one S-Video input. Which is the better of the two, bearing in mind the cable run is 10m or so.

I'll be using Sky 99% of the time, very rare I'll use the DVD so I'll put whichever is better quality on the Sky box.

Cheers

S-video is better than composite. Composite is single core cable to transmit both luminance and chromiance, whereas s-video is a twin core cable, having a core dedicated to chromiance and a core for luminance...

don't get a cheap Samsung 5.1, most of them suffer terrible audio sync over optical.

Check on AV forums for a review of that model if you havent done already.

Or get a proper setup with a Onkyo 606
