basically wen i turn my computer on it goes starts booting up but where its supposed to have the windows xp screen it just goes blank and does nuffin i think its got something to do with the master and slave drives...? any ideas cos its really f***ing me off

 

When you turn it on keep hitting F8 once the BIOS and memory screens have passed but BEFORE it loads up the Starting XP logo.

This'll give you a list. Select 'Safe Mode' from the list then when the machine starts use System Restore to restore the PC back to a time when it was last working.

 

thanks but i just tried that but it just goes blank after the bios and the memory test bit.....

 

Disconnect the slave drive and boot it up only on the primary (C) drive

Primary slave will be located on IDE channel 0 in the middle position
