Engines Numbers and the DVLA
Whats the coo here then??
Do peeps here inform the DVLA everytime they have a new engine fitted of the new engine number??
Am doing a bit of chopping and changing about, my doner vehicle has a non-standard engine in it at the moment but its log book shows the 'original' engine number. Another engine is being fitted tho.
Will the DVLA question this or is it just a matter of filling out the right bits on the log book and posting it off??

It Wasnt Me!
unless the engine is dodgy or has history or whatever then their is no harm in changing the details over at all, it will although cover your ass if you get pulled by a picky copper who wants to check the engine number against the vin plate or whatever. it is jus a case of filling out the relative ino on the V5 - sending it off and the DVLA will change it no bother, same as colour change etc!
