I helped a mate advertise his M3 on PH yesterday and for some reason its not showing ?

I've never used PH before so does it take a while to be checked and go live ?

If I login to my account it shows the car is in the BMW M3 category and you can link to it but if you do a search on there you cannot find the car anywhere ?

i think it normally takes a day or so to show up in the listings,

think there was another thread similar to this not long ago and they had the same problems

If you did'nt pay for a premium advert they list them further back.Ads go up to 15 days,then sold items,then it starts again with more new adverts.

i had an email from Pistonheads which stated the following:

"We have just launched a new classified system featuring two levels of advert, standard adverts and premium adverts.

Premium adverts cost Ł7 and feature 9 pictures and placement at the top of the listings in price order.

Standard adverts are free, but are placed after all the premium and dealer adverts in the listings in price order. Therefore standard adverts taht are free listings will appear out of sequence. For example if you have a Ford Focus for sale for Ł4000 that is a free advert it won't appear in the first sequence of cars for Ł4000. That is because the first Focus's for Ł4000 will be premium adverts. Free Listings will appear after all the Ł0 or no price premium adverts. We therefore suggest you start your search towards the last page and work up to the price of your car.

In addition to the two categories, we also still have some old adverts on the site which were submitted before new system went live on the 3rd of July. These adverts are being treated as premium advert until they expire (which will be within 30 days).

All of this means that if you have recently submitted a standard advert then it is likely to appear several pages back in the listings, especially in a busy category which still contains a lot of old system adverts. As the old adverts expire this will balance out, but in the mean time your advert can be easily found by using either the advanced search or filter tools. Alternatively, you can upgrade your advert for just Ł7 which will allow you to add 6 more pictures and will bump your advert right to the top of the list. "

Piston heads normally preview them before they add them on if you go into manage add it tells you if live or awainting approval it can take a few days. Sometimes they go straight on sometimes you have to wait. I sometimes get impacient and put another one on and you can find they go straight on and just delete the other one etc.
