just for those that dont know the beam on my polo is the same basic type as those fitted 2 corrados, and all old golfs!

Do you have pics of the beam? May help people recommend modifications?

No help to you mate but I had a Polo GTi, and this is exactly the response I got for tuning kit

I gave up on it because it was slow. Handled well on the coilovers, and was well built. But was dog slow and I was 22..

No one was doing the 1.8T conversion on them when I had it (2001). Was 20k for the conversion........

Very nearly got it s/c, but that would have been 5k and I couldn't be arsed....

there still not much less now days! most places i rang still wanted 5k plus!
im amazed now as im half way though doing mine and it rearly ist that differcult!

ive had a go in a g40 engined polo gti and it wasnt much cop 200hp in what for a small car is quite heavy! and from what ive read about the standard gti 1.6 engine u would have 2 replace loads of bits even for a small supercharger conversion as the engines arnt that strong!

good old vw's hey!
(wouldnt sell mine for the world though lol)

Yeah, engine was shit. When I had a look most of the chassis was identical to the Ibiza 1.8T.... So I couldn't understand why it was so expensive....

Must have been a wiring issue or something....

Jap is the future

Glad to see it's all moved on a bit. I just got told take it to Dubsport. I phoned them and they said because it would be a new conversion, it'd be around 20 grand to allow for development.........

I wonder if I'd have got a cut of their profits after that.

The only advice he'd get on there is how to lower it 300mm on 10x13" alloys with 165/40/13 tyres...........

They don't do performance......
