Rab is right in saying that its a Getrag 265 from a XJS made to fit by AVA.
I have never changed the diff as I have never broken one.
Im pretty easy on the transmssion on my car and never ever floor it in 1st and 2nd gear.

Spiky, I really wasnt feeling well most of the day so avoided most folks.
I even fell asleep in the grandstand while watching the track action so that kinda shows how rough I was.[/QUOTE]

Jim,
I was running on "soggy boost" (no wastegate pressure), as the boost settings have all gone to rat-shit since the fitting of the roller-bearing turbo. Harvey has only had time to set the full boost setting. "Soggy boost" is 1.1 bar cold and then 1.4 bar once the turbo gets up to temp, which climbs to 1.6 bar above 6000rpm.
Full boost is 2.2 bar, but I only ran that on the first lap, as I was scared that I had contributed to the noise of you being black flagged, and they just picked the lairiest looking car as being the culprit (as we were running so close) . So I quickly cranked it down as they waved the flag at you .
Boost setting 2 SHOULD be 1.6 bar held, but was 1.8 creeping to 2.0 bar above 7000rpm and it was on this setting that I got black flagged later on in the day (went over by 0.7 dB ), so I had nowhere to go but "soggy boost".
The boost settings that I want it to be are:
Pos 1. "Soggy boost" = 1.4 bar (actuator pressure, no wastegate control)
Pos 2. 1.6 bar held
Pos 3. 1.8 bar held
Pos 4. 2.2 bar held
At the moment, I only have 1 and 4 correctly set up .
In the words of Aston Martin of old - power is "adequate".
Once I have the boost curves all mapped, I plan on going on the rollers to see what each setting is equal to power wise .
Sorry for the hijack .
