I have a mk3 RS1600i, and at last MOT suggested I replace the Front Lower Balljoint, but my car has all adjustable setup (non-standard), can anyone point me to where I can get what I would need, looked at burtons but cannot find it on the website, unless im looking in the wrong place. Desperately want to try and get this part tomorrow if I can, so any help or pointing the general direction is appriciated

Rang Burtons & Rally Design in Kent and both do not do the part for the Mk3 escort anymore, and even if they did, would have to buy complete new parts not just part with ball joint

 

That must be why our sales have increased

that would explain it, looks like you now have a captive audience for the mk3 boys

so can you supply just the bit I need or would I need to purchase the whole thing complete

 

Parts are not interchangable but I don't know what bits you have Lee, are they rose jointed or standard ends with adjuster in the middle ?

Ours use rose jointed ends and once purchaced as a complete unit all parts are available seperatly further down the line.

We have no intention of dropping the Escort from our range as its a popular seller

that way everyone will be able to see what needs to be changed and what the original part was as a whole assembly

 

thats my problem, the car is in a rented garage, very small, just fits, and so i would love nothing more than to bring it home, take off said bit so I can source exactly what I need, BUT, I wouldnt dream of leaving the car parking outside my place, every sportyish looking car we have owned and left outside in the 5 years of being here as either been, broken into, damaged or stolen, xr3i, series2, rs2000, escort van, transit, xr2i, so it just makes everything a pain in the aRSe, so if I get the part its a case of get car, swap bit, back to garage,job done
