difficult to tell from the vid; my initial thought was top end, but on second hearing i'm not so sure

i assume its there from cold as well as warm?

never had one of those engines so not too familiar with them; what have you tried so far?

any tell tale signs of a worn bottom end?

I'd go for rocker wear or tappet wear, not jacking up properly.

CVH lifters are quite noisey in general anyways !!

Got no sound at work, but looks like a standard CVH rocker cover.

Are they new lifters wit the cam & are all the rockers tight ??

What was the engine like before you changed the cam and lifters, what is the oil pressure with the engine hot, and cold, rocker arm nut 25-29nm, or 18-21,Ibft, did you bed the cam in with the lifters,, and is the cam timing correct as it sounds like a diesel, what make cam is it,

Regards Dave R.

To bed a cam in you have to run it @ like 2k for 10-15 mins.

How quickly does the oil light turn off when you start the engine ?? Both hot & cold, is it split second or is there a moment between the engine firing & the light extinguishing ??

I had a knocking on my last engine, youd have sworn it was the cam, turned out to be the bottom end, confirmed this by takin a sparkplug out of each cylinder one at a time and firing it up, when I got to the dodgy cylinder the knocking was quieter due to less pressure on the bearing.... not the most accurate diagnosis but worked for me. have to agree with the other post, sounds like there are multiple knocks... or is someone at the door!

oh rite didn't realize it was that simple. is there any where around hertfordshire that would reground the crank then? or would a zvh conversion be cheaper?
