Default help please

heres the story i bought a mk 1 escort 2.1 pinto, type 9 box stage 3 head with big valves and kent cam have reciepts to prove head and cam but not the block, had a back fire from 2 cylinder through carb side, take rocker cover off see a follower has come off no biggie. but for some reason i had an urge to take head off then greated with this.

Also i have taken some pics of the head to see what you think of it, is it a big valve head because it does look like one to me! also cant find any brand marks on the cam no even ford

need a little bit of help i never seen or come across a situation like it how do you sort out the water? and what to do about seller?

my advice, clean out the water from the cylinders, and de coke the pistons,
replace the head gasket,
decoke the head . regrind the valves. replace the cam/followers/spray bar.
open up the holes slightly in the new spraybar.
rebuild the engine and then flush the water system, adding antifreeze when done.
get the co checked as its running too rich.

The water will have come from when you split the head from the block, dont worry about that.
It is running rich though as lloyd said, and that top end looks rather dry, unless you have cleaned it up before the pics?

Look std valve size to me, but as said way too dry at top end, don't open holes out as it is not needed if you have decent oil pressure which I suspect you don't.
If a cam with a lesser base circle is put in it will need extended ball studs, very cheap and a very common reason why they get ripped out, just check the thread on the head now where it goes, though normally is ok, I had it once, so changed to all extended ball studs, still have my old one in my nasty collection as well.
