Default The Mad Mile !!

Jus wanted to apologise to the peeps that came down last night from here to see some propa quick cars goin for it down the mile !!

Namely, Rich, Jim, Paul, Effi, Si, Ricky etc etc.

Looks like all the "big cars" bottled it except Brian wit the R34 who's car was down by the coast & simply didn't have time to grab it !!

Was a good turn out, so we headed up the mile anyways, until I got absolutely HOUNDED by undercover feds in a Volvo !! He jumped the lights & jus blocked up the lane to block me in !!

I thought he'd seen me use all 3 lanes to turn round in style until he told me not to worry I hadn't done anything wrong jus had an illegal front no. plate !!

Then tried tellin me I had no insurance cos my insurance companies a nightmare (cheap but a nightmare), I was finally allowed to leave wit a nip for the plate !!

Big thanks to me brother who was tryin to wind me up chattin they was gonna take my car, section 59, nick me etc !! c**t !!

Kirstie took the keys & was gonna drive off if they even mentioned it !!

So jus wanted to apologise again for the peeps that traveled down !!

no bother mate

we thought you were in proper trouble when they pulled that move, but all they were interested in was the numberplate

easy way to avoid those situations tho... put on a normal plate

After seeing the state of the Civic and Seat on Traffic Cops last night made me think do I really want a fast car anymore, scary to see what happens when it all goes wrong even through no fault of your own. (Although saying that don't need a fast car to have a horrid crash as speed)

We ALL love going fast and 'racing' just please be careful peeps!

The stretch of the A217 called 'The Mad Mile' has been popular for illegal street racing. It is a straight length of dual carriageway that runs downhill from the junction with the A2022 to the junction with the B2230 at Belmont. This length of road has been known locally for generations, then became popular in early 2000 with the modified car scene where frequent races would take place, usually on Thursday nights. This information spread quite quickly with the use of the internet, as far north as Birmingham and as a result people from all over came to participate and watch these races. Police presence gradually diffused this illegal activity, but it has not completely disappeared. Measures to stop these races include crash barriers erected on the centre grass verge which runs the length of this stretch. People used to park here while the races were in progress.
This stretch of road has also made news appearances in the early 2000s as well as documentaries on the modified car scene/cruising

Oh sh*t !!

Never realised that description was on wikipedia !! I helped start the whole thing & had a VERY big part to play in all the bad things that article describes !!

Cruise-South was the original organising web site.

Drivers From Hell 2002 was the documentary.

Verious news programes.

Thursdays was decided cos that was the only day during the week none of us had other commitments !! Glad it stuck !!

Shouldn't really be proud should I ?? But I am !!

glad everything was ok with the police mate, when they cut you off i thought you were in BIG shite, thankfully you just got a slap on the wrist. If you're going to do a london meet you should get down to the passionford meet, just off the m25. Would kirsty have used jb boost or kirsty boost if she pegged it? pmsl as you said theres 2 stages lol
