Default Laptop NumLock Problem

Hi,

ive just replaced the HDD on my girlfriends laptop ater she dropped it. Ive had to re-install everything. It all works but now the numlock is permanently on, meaning that the letters U, I, O etc are coming up as 4, 5, 6 etc on the screen.

Is there any way in which i can change this - the keyboard doesn't have a NumLock button. The "function" button works to change these problematic keys to the proper letters/characters expected however it needs to be held down for each button press. And it does not toggle Numlock off.

Any suggestions - im stumped with this one?

Cheers

Agar

Press the FN+insert and give it a try.

Failing that, see if you have turned it on in the BIOS

This might help if you want it off permanently.
