Firstly can I thank Dave Moss, Helen & Chip for transporting my car to the event, when I arrived it was already on display thanks lads & lady.
This was my first taste of corporate dealings, I knew that 5th gear & men & motors were present but not that I was doing the speaking on camera as Toyo said your the 'expert'
. Seemed to go well & I tipped Stevie as a likely winner & he then received good air time
. Managed to get good plugs in for the car & MAD
.
The winner was a 1000bhp Skiline who did a 201 in sub 23 secs, thats fast. Stevie was 2nd with a 191 in 24.1secs. Only 4 cars over 180.
This could be a great event & was rather like totb 1. Cars head to head over a mile, Challenges were made & everyone excepted when they were beat, great atmosphere.
The down side was the organisation at best a shambles & verging on total choas. If im still connected with this event next year it will be different be assured. No times were collated at a central point so no one knew there position unless you asked each competitor their times. The timing gear was a joke, too windy was the official excuse & Stevie had 3 'no recorded time' in his 5 runs, he was not happy.
Lets have some Fords their next year, but remember stripped out cars are banned.

Was a good day out, but a bit limited from a spectator point of view.
Dave was a star, no point you thanking me and helen really as dave did the lot, did all the driving, all the loading and unloading, and gave your car a quick clean off when it was unloaded.
Also in the middle of his day of helping you out, he took time out to trailer a couple of lads in an audi who had a problem, they couldnt call the RAC to the event really, so he took them a few miles up the road to a place with loo's and offroad etc that was convenient for them to wait at.
Properly nice guy

None at all from me, took the camera but I was busy trying to help those lads with the audi out by bleeding their clutch etc before we finally gave up and called on Dave to trailer them away.
I didnt really see anyone with a decent camera there all day other than the actual official press folk, as there werent really any spectators and all the competitors were too busy really, sure there must be some somewhere though.
