Unless you can come up with a good story of why its not paid:

Failure to pay the charge results in a £100 fine. You can pay £10 if you forget to pay on the day but this late payment is only accepted on the day after travelling in the zone.

100quid reduced to 50 for quick payment.

makes my blood boil they REFUSE to autocharge registered people like me. they have my reg and card details and ahve the ability to bill me automatically

they WONT

they'd rather fine you when you forget

i mean nobody refuses to pay it on purpose if their car is correctly registered as youre GUARANTEED to get fined, its only poor sods like us who make a genuine mistake and forget

Is that exclusion based on emissions of the clio then?

i've had many a big car mate, but with the petrol prices as they are and the ludacrus tax prices, i saw sense and opted for a cheap car to run/own.

when you compare the car i changed from 2.0 Celica GT

Celica = £101.97 for 6 months tax - 55-60 miles to £10 of petrol (if your lucky)

CLio = £35 PER YEAR to tax - 90-120 miles to £10 of diesel - Excluded from congest charge

it's a no brainer

when the petrol and tax come down then i will go back to big cars.

i went down the A40, over the edgware road flyover, turned right into upper montague street, then right again into york street and then another right into enoford street and drop the folks off at the top by the lights
so for all of about 500 yards worth of nipping in i got clobbered
but i should have paid before i left the house in the morning just to make sure, but fuck it, i know now so i won't be so silly next time around

fucking red ken, i worked in london for seven years didnt see a bit of difference in traffic, but if there was any justice he would be knocked down in the congestion charge in a bus lane by a good old bendy bus.

that was the extension,,, was told he would do it anyway then they can comment on how well its doing in a review

same as resident parking round here, put in place then not enough people voting it out,,, the included ALL residents of the area,, even ones with NO cars,,,,, cause people with no cars never complained aswell the majority seemed happy,,,, never based it on how many people with cars and ALSO based it on people per household,,,, so kids ect where also included and NOT the amount of properties !!!

they they put the price up to 300 quid for the year based on emissions ???

if they sneak it in they sneak it in

they wanted to put permit holder parking on our road as everyone has off street parking and it would avoid the problems for the schools on our road (there are 3 of them so it gets a bit busy in the mornings and evening) but painting boxes on the road won't stop people from leaving their cars running while they park up

Aye, I reckon they will try again in a couple of years though - once they have finished screwing up the roads in Edinburgh city centre!
