I gave my old S2 away for £1k less than it was worth as I needed it gone quick to buy my 3 door. Although the extra cash would have been nice, I wanted this 3 door more than anything else, and haven't looked back.
If you've agreed a price then there are 2 options:
1) honour your word and go through with it
2) make up something and let the buyer down.
The thing that sealed the deal with me letting mine go was that cars are a buyers market - if you hold out for more cash, what's to say you will get it? A car is only worth what someone will pay for it.

do you have to/need to sell it?
if so whatever you get you should be happy with-if not, dont sell it. all these people who say"i could have got £x more" how do you know, and why didnt you then?

I sold my old track car to a guy who sounded really interested in the car and i thought was going to put it to good use.
Two weeks later he sold it for 50% more.
Fair play i guess but was just a bit dissapointed it didn't go to someone who would appreciate it.

I sold my S1 for £3250. It was advertised at £3300 and to this day i think i could have got £4500 for it easily! It sold to the first person to see it and he said it was better than ones he'd seen at £5000+!!!! I must have had 30 calls for it!
But, you never know if id have put it up for £4000+ i might not have had any interest at all.
As it happened i had to sell the S1 to get the escos anyway and needed a reasonably quick sale, so that made up for selling it anyway.

I suppose its mainly because they need/want a quick sale and maybe have little/less knowledge of the values. As i said, i sold my S1 for what i saw as cheap as i needed it gone within a week to rasie the funds for the escos. I must admit i had less knowledge of the S1 values at the time so maybe i under sold it too, as i got it cheap so sold it cheap.

Unless u are a call dealer prep to lose money on a car. They can make money because they don't take it personally and can wait and dont feel rushed to buy or sell.
After a few months I can'd see why anyone is worried if they paid £200 or £1k to much for a car as long as its not a vast % of the total value
