Cosworth powerd elise.. possible?

As a matter of interest what KKK turbo are they swapping the GT for ? I took the KKK K04 off cos it's a weak turbo - only really runs low boost and cracks for a pastime and the manifold is v restrictive.

Sorry for butting in,
It's my Elise you are talking about. Sorry to dissappoint you but the car only has a mild 310BHP - just dynoed by JKM in Portsmouth. It's the only one in the UK running Garret GT28RS turbo. Most of them run IHI VF34.
There are manydifferent conversions out there, Civic Type R supercharged is also a good one but doesn't have the Torque of the Audi 20V. Duratec, and Hyabusa Turbo have all been done.
I've talked about the Cossie Conversion to my mate -but we came to the conclusion that there was little point - due to Weight, Gearbox compatability and how would you manage the heat in a plastic car ? the Elise is V sensitive to weight, apparently the 20V conversion adds 50kg but the CG is further forward.
There are car's out there pushing 350-370BHP but to my knowledge knowbody has 400BHP appart from a bloke in the USA who has a Honda powered one - but he's American ! so he's bound to have one - Pub talk if you ask me.
I know one bloke who tried to hit 400BHP with a charge cooler and Garret GT30 ? but it didn't make 400BHP it was 375BHP or something like that - it was possibly due to the fuel pump ? not sure what the outcome was.
I do know that when it came onto Boost it lit the rollers up (I was there) and filled the room up with alot of heat - I'm not sure how he managed the heat which as you know is a BHP killer.
Anyway, I built mine myself and it runs 310BHP (Dyno Dynamics rollers) 660cc injectors, GT28RS and 1.2Bar Boost.
Happy Days
Andy

It was indeed a fuelling problem...pump too small..
I have just changed it for a bigger one but bow the 630cc injectors are struggling....!
I will be ordering some 1000 cc injectors in a couple of weeks and then back up to Dave Walkers for a session..
The cossie powered thing interested me at first... but to be honest I was really concerned with the power delivery possibly being a little too aggressive- the 20V is really smoothe!

Gareth... check out Seans... The ginger one does not fook about does he!
Sean doesn't do pub talk! mainly as he is ginger and no pub allows him in!
he does do talk VERY loudly though!
Got my new exhaust back yesterday. This should cure a lot of my heat issues. Equal length headers, really really nice collector, v-band connectors throughout. The manifold is made of Inconel, all ceramic coated.
It's just generally exhaust porn!!!!
I asked for the silencer to be repackable and as large as possible
You can see the diameter of it here. Bear in mind that the pipe going into it is 3 inch!!

Porkie, what do you think of the S2 Charged Exige?? I REALLY want one but have never been in one. I appreciate they're quick to 100mph but I didn't know if they dramitacally slow up then? I've driven an S1 Exige rond Hethal and that seemed quick from memory but was some years ago now.

VERY pleasant inside. Great radio and very comfy. Good Aircon as well
AMAZING brakes.
Great traction and the ride is soooo comfy!
Seans is on Ohlins not standard suspension though.
Over all, a Great car.

he is always positive when most would throw their toys out...
and to be fair he has had more than his fair share of problems with that car ...
Seems to be on top of it now though....

Have to say after Wayne took me for a blat in the Elise I was most impressed with the power delivery and the 1.8Ts sure deliver the power well.
Wayne - ive not forgotten... email on its way to you, good to catch up at weekend

Wayne,
please consider taking your car to JKM in Portsmouth. I thought Dave Walker knew his stuff but F*ck me the Bloke who owns the Company not only is an Elise fanatic, he's an Emerald expert and a VAG tuner !
I've had my car tuned by Dave and JKM in my honest opinion JKM knocks spots off Dave. Dave is good but these boys are better.
Andy
P.S where are my Stainless Steel baffel plates for my Sump ? You promised me them ages ago.
