To save everyone saying the same thing. I know hwo fitted these brakes and he is an ex cossie owner and ford trained mechanic. he knows how to fit brakes and bleed the cossie system. He fitted my ap's 5 months back with no dramas.

So its something else other than bleeding

probably fucked the pump or similar. it happens sometimes.

get it off to somewhere with the proper ABS diagnostics stuff, will save you time and money rather than trying to sort it without the right equipment.

well, me not knowing much about cars, I'd say if my brakes worked fine before someone did some work on them and then they felt "funny" then 'something' cant have been done right......surely he tested them after fitting them and would have noticed something was "funny" when he road tested it?

or its a 1 in a million coincidence.....

make sure you let us know whats wrong when you find out though....and dont drive it fast until you find out!

it'll either be them not being bled properly, if there is an air lock in the system and it's found it's way to the valve block things do go decidedly pear shaped

the resivous cap not being put back on properly

or the pads and discs not beinbg bedded in yet giving you a spongey pedal

but my money is on the cap not being on

Cheers

the rears are bled "funny" with the ignition on and pegal pressed a tad

the fornts are just as per normal

easiest to cvheck the cap first as if there isn't enough fluid in the resivour then he lgihts will stay on and the pump will keep on pumping

Right, so its not the cap is off, its not a bleeding issue, its not the brakes have been fitted incorrectly.

2 more things to check then

is there any fluid on the floor where the car is parked from possibly a leaky from the brakes?

is there enough fluid in the resivour?

then off to get teh abs put oto a computer to find out what the problem is, although the pump might calm down if it's cool

I dont think you can diagnose that Rich....

Im putting odds on the cap not being on or a leaky valve that was over or under tightened

Ian,

if the light was not on when they left the garage then th every much doubt the cap was off. What valve? it was a disc, pad and caliper change. There has to be something else. Sensor or wiring is my guess

is the brake pedal rock solid?

if so then its the abs kicking in and the its been overbleed by the sounds of it
