Couldnt see it as it was all hidden down under the downpipe!!

Picked the car up and asked if I could test it....said to him "how fast can I go" EA said "as fast as you want, thats what its build for"....so I go up the road, put my foot down and bang!! Headgasket goes. Got it back there, and left it!

Went to pick it up two weeks later!! Paid the bill for fixing the gasket....£600!!! Asked him again "how fast can I go" EA said "dont worry its all ok now so as fast as you want, thats what its build for". Drove off very fed up, went home at driving test speed. First time I nailed it.........Blew the engine to bits....Rods everywhere.....!

Upon examination by another tuner....when the engine was removed, the true scale of the bodge was revealed. Truly truly shocking!!

EA told me to get lost for warranty build even tho they built the engine and mapped it 11 months earlier at great cost......and fitted the new turbo/wastegate so was all their work!!

So the skyline guy is very lucky he got any compensation!!

TBH mate, I dont care one way or the other, Id trust you totally to leave my car with you or to do business with you (well, as you know!) and whenever Ive seen mention that you were involved in some form of car crime in your past, Ive always just assumed that like just about every garage in a 50 mile radius of the longbridge factory at some point one or more of the thousands of cars that were constantly dissappearing from there passed through your hands and you got unlucky with being one of the ones who got done for it.

Cant be an easy cross for you to bear, especially as im sure you are aware of all the past dealings that lots of cossie or other make tuners have been involved with etc and not had the misfortune of being the one to get their collar felt!

Martin, If I get another Escort Cos, I wouldnt hesitate at bringing it to you for work to be done, as I know it would be to the highest standards available and very reasonably priced!!

Dont let people "involved with EA" try and removed the heat off them by shifting the topic of this thread from the fact that they again made a shocking bodge of workmanshift with this tool left in an engine!

One thing you would never do is bodge any job and would never let a car go out like that! And we all know that on here! Anything else is irrelevant I think anyway!!

I send countless people there and put him on the cover of Performance Ford 3 or 4 times in 2003!!

Maybe I should have made that threat to get my car fixed!! Not my style though!!

Blimey Chip, didnt know that mate!!

Ask Martin and Stu/Harvey about the T6-2000 map that was in my car after it blew up! It was almost a WRC rally map, virtually unaltered!! Fine you might think...but my car had a GT35!!!!

I think they were just throwing it together knowing it was going to blow up the next day anyway!!

When I eventually got the car to another tuner, when he got the head off, it was revealed that the head had been repaired 3 times! It was a previously mint head!!

Because people go there without knowing previous history or they dont come on here!!

When my engine went bang, and after I refused their offer of a rebuild of the rebuild at a special rate, he got his missus to ring me grisling asking me to remove any threads off PF. They offered me some car parts to sell towards the repair of my car! Never materialised!!

I had 3 Eproms, off them (£5 each?), 2 of them failed to start the car...one was dangerous and could not be used!! Some compensation eh?

Nah, I hate that kind of thing! Can you be my legal advisor in future? hehe!!

Court cases hard always hard to prove but I do honestly believe that I should of done it. I still think I could follow this up as I have loads of evidence and witnesses if I dug deep enough!!

I have rung him trying to chase up these "parts" but I get told hes with a customer, but he never rings me back!

I dunno. Isnt there a time limit on this kind of thing?? I think I could on the grounds that we agreed on him giving me parts but after a reasonable period (lol) this was not honoured!! So no-one can say I wasnt patient!

Harvey may still have the wastegate plumbing somewhere....15mm copper tubing off a Tial Wastegate....and EA had the cheek to say that VInce had supplied too strong a Spring in the Wastegate!! Lol!

FACT: If I had taken the spring out completely it would still have run 52psi !!!!

Hang-on, we do not know what the compensation package consists of. It could be something like 'removal of the allan key at preferential rates'

I will say i have chilled out a lot and i do let silly things go over my head now and shrug them off, but something like that would have sent me into a bit of a rage so to speak PMSL @ Legal Advisor

I just HATE seeing posts like yours and the problems you have had etc especially with the amount of money involved in your engine. And getting his wife to call you ? Wtf ? Not brave enough to do it himself !

No idea on time span for things like this but if you have still been promised parts and not received them, then i think i would be taking steps to see what could be done, as you say you can dig deep and you have the back-up of witnesses.

I once checked over a saph that had a chip fitted and setup 3 days earlier. The fuelling was terrible and all over the place. It was silly rich in places. You could smell the excess fuel even as the car sat idleing.

When the owner rang them up they said "its set safe and supposed to be like that".

Cowboys.

Shocked at the feeble attempt to get the heat off them and turn it towards one of the Uk's finest and most respected tuners!!

My pal's jus bought a Series 1 with Cossie management which has an EA chip on L6.

You can smell it's runnin rich, how much we don't know yet, but it's goin into either Field Motorsport or NMS for a setup real soon to get checked over !!

Worrying bout the state of the car on this chip after reading this......... Could be a time bomb waitin to pop, he's jus bought it & over the moon with it apart from that !!

My missus argued that it wasnt wise to drag it through the courts!!

Yes his wife called me and said 'I' was ruining their business and all their hard work!! Err...what about my poor exploded car and the hard work I had done to give them twenty thousand pounds!!!!

Another very high profile person on here has always maintained that Paul got his wife to peel a load of onions before she rang me and blubbed!! And he aint joking!!!!

Field Motorsport will be diplomatic as they are from the same neck of the woods!! And are mates!! Best to take it (or the chip) to someone else not involved with that camp!!

Ian,
I remember seeing your car at Harveys on one of my trips over so was drawn to it as I always liked the car. Then I seen the bin of bits...there was nothing left!we have all seen an engine with a rod out of bed or whatever, but this engine looked as if some had stuck a lb of samtex up its ass!then I asked what were the plumbing parts doing in the bin

as Lee has said a shocking story by any standard but what really got me was the attempted cover up and lies that were proved with the data log from the T6

Oh my sides!!! I can imagine the invoice now......

Labour:

Remove engine
Strip and Inspect
Extract Hex Drive and return to toolbox
Rebuild Engine and fit to car with very dodgy chip!
Think of number add a thousand and print invoice
Light large cuban cigar!
