How hard and how much does it cost to rebuild a 2wd cosworth YB yourself?

I've had new tappets done not to long ago so its mainly bottom end.

Was thinking to strip and replace big, small and main bearings aswell as the rings.

Is it ever this simple or does it usually turn out needing alot more? (the car runs and drives fine, its just a little bit nosiy on idle and overun)


Other option is to get a 2nd hand 'good' engine from a car getting broken etc but knowing my luck I would end up having to rebuild that!

My mate did this last winter, think it cost him around £1000 - that was doing all the work himself.

iv just done my motor and it ran up to about the same .i got all my bits of MATT LEWIS
