did series 1 escorts only come in white?

I have bought the Black series 1 that was in rallye news, there is no proof it was a royal car, circumstantial stuff but nothing concrete.
The car however is genuine black from the factory, which is why i purchased it vin & colour plates confirm this as has the DVLA. Bodykit & a couple of panels need painting to be perfect but otherwise the car is in vgc, no rot at all. i hope to tidy it up & have it for display purposes next year for those that are interested.

Purely making a point. Not seen the article or care to do so, not even a member of the club anymore.
Anyway... my point being it wouldnt be the 1st time someone has got insider information on something from within the club etc brought it and it then still being advertised etc in the RN

This is my s1 here really need a mint sunroof for it when you look through the glass you see rust.Not on the car must be between the glass & the metal frame that holds it into the cartrige

i know what you mean about sunroofs , mint ones are very difficult to come by!

Ahh cool i see it what a find 
yeah the sunroof glass is hard to find everybody that has a spare or one for sale say there is marks in them as well.the water must sit between the glass & the chanel.(for anyone reading this)the car is not rusty one bit. i will joint the series one web site when i move into my new house i can only get on the net at work & series one site is blocked

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
Picture of the grey one from today, I think it looks good. Will take it back to standard in the future but will be used for fun like this for a while first 
Grill etc will be fitted before it comes out on the road so it will look better
