Default Buying/Selling PX clearance cars?

I'm after some advice from the Car wheeler dealers amongst ya, My mate keeps buying v cheap px clearances from main dealers(N reg Laguna £400 sells it for £1500)He's making £5k+ a month on top of his normal job and he gives the cars to a mate of his to sell on his forecourt for him so he gets a cut too! Now I don't mind a gamble and have £2k to get myself started, he recons you just walk straight into the dealership and ask, Why aren't they selling em ?Do the dealers make there money on selling the new cars and the px's just get in the way?Has anyone ever bopught the book about how you start with £500 and make your way up to a Ferarri?
I work shifts so I have lots of time to shine em up and sell on, has anyone else heard of anything simaler?

Yeh but he gets cars with nowt wrong for Peanuts.Just cos he reckons it's not worth the Main dealers effort to flog em and they may not be the same marque.

Thats what you have to think about Andy . You cant just take the good cheap stuff from the main dealers , they will expect you to take the shit aswell and pay the same sort of money for them as the good stuff,
You also will be expected to buy quite a few not just one or two to suit yourself , they will ring you and say we have 5 we want you to shift ,,,,
Its not all its cracked up to be , but if you are serious you will make good money .

my used to work at a new car garage and he would tell the people who had come in to px there car that the price they could give them was poor but if they rung his mate he would probably get4 a bit more!! they would walk out the garage ring my other mate who would go round there house and 9 out of ten times but there car then and there!!! people who have money to buy a brand new car dont usually argue about a couple of hundred quid on there old car .so in there eyes they were getting a good deal on there px( better than the garage would have offered) and my mate has bought a car for less than a garage would pay for it . then advertise it , sell it and count the pound note!!!!!!!!!! he got a t reg 2.0 vectra a while ago for £600. i drove it round with for sale stickers in it and left it at the top of my road(main road) or that was going to be the plan so i had a car for a while but on the first day i got it and parked it up some bloke rung in the evening and bought it £1750!! he was well pleased . i got £100 for selling it ! obviously they all aint like that . i think u just got to be in the right place at the right time .... and im never there

we have an 'in' with a local dealer, we get a lot of nice stuff cheap, but we also have to move shit at the drop of a hat, ie last friday we were towing a wanky h-plate nova that didnt run through the rush hour traffic and now theres a d-plate metro waiting for us. but the pros outweigh the cons, you cant just turn things down or they look elsewhere!(metro and nova were free though for us moving them so we couldnt moan!)

Mate of mine just bought 21 cars for £3200. (dealer wanted £4800) aparently only one went into the scrapyard.

as long as you are not too greedy you can move them on quickly and make a good profit.

Sometimes a small profit and quick turn round is best.

its very very hard work , Just think you get a call and they need 6/7 cars moveing today ,,,, where do you put them until you can sell them ???? you need to move fast on your feet and shift them , even if you loose on a couple but make on the rest .
