surely if the act, or ect were far enough out to raise the co this much you could spot an unrealistic value on the secs monitor?

no to give you a example my fuel pressure gauge sender was 8 inch away from a coil lead and was giving a reading of 70 psi when actual reading was 45 psi , the coil and leads give off quite a strong interference signal which in turn give wrong readings or conflict readings

true but is it seeing the right value or is it working correctly

the act or ect will have a default setting that will put the car rich if they are not connected properly or broken so the car will be rich what ever happens

I really don't know where he gets it from. He's gone from such classic posts (on interford) as coz we're boostin and a brakin!, to reckoning he's a world leader in closed loop, and religious factions in the western world!

the injectors are less than a year old also i would of thought it wouldnt tick over as smooth as it does

But its worth a look

edit
thinking about it the co was quite high befor the new injectors were fitted
so it must be a sensor

the last few mot's we did i had to turn the fuel pressure down to about 1.5 bar

If your lambda voltage is 0.065V then there is something wrong.

If you unplug an injector the CO will increase because of mifire.

All th problems many seem to have with the closed loop setup really makes me wonder if it is the way to go or not!!

My NMS chip has been faultless

It's probably allready been checked or mentioned, but doesnt he closed loop cut out if it detects movement on the TPS, maybe if its not set to fully closed on the throttle?

Yeah, every manufacturer in the world since 1992 (Any many before in USA and Europe) are all fooking idiots. Pointless system.

Problems are NOT caused by closed loop systems. Every car in the world has had it fitted for over 16 years. Its tried and tested by ever manufacturere in the world and they still use it today. Even the saphs manufactured in late 1991 and ALL the Escort Cosworths had it as standard, as do all the Focus Rs, ST etc.

The problems are caused by faulty cars and owners not doing things correctly, as i get the feeling Matt may confirm...

Give that man a prize. this is without doubt the most common problem we see when customers DIY the system and then complain it does not work.

If its always ran rich i'd change the cts as first point of call IMO it could just be out of range and not being picked up by the secs

Since I got closed loop, I defo noticed my fuel needle is moving way less, despite being a lot faster and harder driven, light takes around 20 secs to go out for heater.
