Hi Lee,

Great to hear that you are onboard for 2009 - I have attached the entry form that we need you to fill out and send it back to me. If this raises any questions at all please do not hesitate to call me.

Please do a wire transfer of Ł10,000 which is a deposit of your Ł22,500 entry fee which included 1 car, two people for the whole US leg.

ouch!

Yeah but you'd have to remap the car to run on their 12 octane fuel

In the grand scheme of things, Ł22.5K is a lot cheaper than the last two irrc, they seem to have scaled it down an awful lot...

I luckily got a very small glimpse of the Gumball feeling by taking part in the Cannonball UK this year, not the same event, but similar mindset (just not as well off) and I can fully understand why this can be seen as a worthwhile way to spend some money

Just wish I could spend that amount on life experiences

Enjoy it guys

It's not cheap either, Ł6,500 + VAT based on 2 drivers and 1 car.
Full details here: http://www.cannonball8000.com/europe/rally-2008-europe/

You won't get the big ticket names there (although will mellor took part in the one day event I did), neither will the parties be quite so spectacular, but in terms of meeting like-minded people, having good fun and banter on the way and in between, it can't be far off.

We really had a cracking time and it was one of those week ends where you go home afterwards wishing it could just go on and on and on...

Look here for full details of the next event: http://www.cannonball8000.com/europe/rally-2008-europe/

There are a few others though, which are better value than cannonball8000, like this one: http://www.cannonballruneurope.co.uk/uk/index.htm

Oh, and we had a little tussle on the way to blenheim on dual carriageway with a 360 F1, driver said he thought the evo was going rather well and that he'd have one if they did them in automatic or tiptronic since he drives around london a lot

Also had a race with a TVR at the lights (same dual carriage way), but too much throttle from standstill on a new clutch meant that we did full revs in first and second without moving and pulled away in third

Drove into Blenheim palace with serious smells of burnt clutch
