The RS owner / Subaru owner Illness
Hello people, hope you having a nice day enjoying the sunshine 
.
There has been a lot of talk lately regarding the following topic : -
Escort Cosworth VS NEW focus RS
(I’m not sure why but hey ho, I thought I’d settle it once and for all: ;D)
1) The new Focus RS looks better , miles better as it looks like the WRC car
2) New focus RS is faster
3) You don’t have to TIP TOE around fearing bits will fall off
4) Most escort are ROTTEN
5) Escorts are respected by CHAVS who also nick them
6) The engineering is 20 years old and my 330 Beemer will eat it alive
OK OK there is a serious point to all this….. I think a lot of FORD RS owners live in the past (just MO). They need to wake up and realise escorts and serrias are old, badley engineered usually look laughable (In todays world) and are repected by the wrong people.
IT’S TIME TO MOVE ON , step away from granddads’ run about (no offense intended)
I think Subaru owners have the SAME illness they prefer the classic shape to ANYTHING else and are stuck in the past. The truth of the matter is company’s like SUBARU and FORD have won new ‘serious’ customers with cars like the ST and the new WRX STI.
Guess im fed up of the same old story, unless its got ‘500bhp 4x4 a roll cage, nitrous a bass box in the boot.. it must be shit’

I agree that old Fords are badly engineered and to a large extent rusting away as we speak, but all fords since the mighty cosworth's suffer the same bugbear; WRONG WHEEL DRIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!

i agree with most of it and after reading the post i presumed others would too
why are people comparing it to an esco? probably because it was such a legend and dare i say the last "true" RS?!

The the Escort Cosworth which actually IS a road going rally/WRC car doesn't look like one
2) New focus RS is faster
Similar at standard difference is one is massivly detuned
3) You don’t have to TIP TOE around fearing bits will fall off
Nothing has ever fallen off my Escort Cos If maintained properly should have no probs what so ever

Most Escort Cosworth are pampered garaged babies, yes you can find shitters but whether you would buy one is another story

I too appreciate where he is coming from, but like you said yourself Lambchop, the escort is the last true RS, in so much as it was built primarily for racing and not to pass emmissions laws, safety laws............
As for the 330 Beemer comment; I could beat any one of the 795million examples on the road in my sleep!!!

is it fair to compare the 2 cars? i dont think so. too many variables! people should leave them for what they each stand for
i think the new frs looks fantastic and a good step by ford. i reckon most people would say they dont like it as its not a 4x4 like an evo/scoob. i guess they think it would be a rival to them if it was

The thing is alot of people on here have owned newer performance cars including myself, i prefer my 20 year old sierra. I dont think its the best car in the world and I know that theres far more capable cars out there, just like everyone else does. We Choose to drive shitty old Fords as you like to call them because thats what we prefer.
