The thing is alot of people on here have owned newer performance cars including myself, i prefer my 20 year old sierra. I dont think its the best car in the world and I know that theres far more capable cars out there, just like everyone else does. We Choose to drive shitty old Fords as you like to call them because thats what we prefer.

There has been a lot of talk lately regarding the following topic : -
Escort Cosworth VS NEW focus RS
(I’m not sure why but hey ho, I thought I’d settle it once and for all: ;D)
1) The new Focus RS looks better , miles better as it looks like the WRC car
I agree but I still think the Escort Cos is a top motor
2) New focus RS is faster
Again it will be on a std v std basis
3) You don’t have to TIP TOE around fearing bits will fall off
Maintaining an Escort or Sapph cossie properly is not cheap and people buy a shitbox example and then struggle to maintain hence the repeated breakdowns, or even shoddy car tuners causing the problems.
4) Most escort are ROTTEN
I disagree, almost every escort cos I have seen has been looked after, the same is not true of sapphs, I think this is due to them starting at £1500+ v the Escorts £10,000+ Price reflects condition.
5) Escorts are respected by CHAVS who also nick them
disagree, chavs can drive or steal anything. In fact a s2 RS Turbo is as chavvy, if not more than an escort cos.
6) The engineering is 20 years old and my 330 Beemer will eat it alive
Agree. BMW make top notch cars reflected by high end prices.
OK OK there is a serious point to all this….. I think a lot of FORD RS owners live in the past (just MO). They need to wake up and realise escorts and serrias are old, badley engineered usually look laughable (In todays world) and are repected by the wrong people.

well the chav's round hear dont like fords cos there not reliable apparently(even tho i never had a problem with my old frst) lol they all drive dubbed up golfs and euro looks saxo's and stuff like that not fords
