It's hard seeing your mum in such a state, my mum had a heart op and I felt the same, it's heart wrenching seeing the lady who gave you so much in so much pain and being so helpless and unable to do anything about it.

Good thing is though mate she's on her way back, she'll be kicking your ass in no time All the best to you and above all your mum

Missed the thread 1st time round, but as Paul said my mum went through brain surgery last September.

It was a brain tumor she had and was diagnosed and operated on within two days so it was all a massive shock back then.

Wish her well in her recovery you only have one mum

My mums doing fine just now its still a long road to recovery for her, but they all have an amazing ability to fight illness, cover up pain and still somehow show love

Cheers tony nice to know there is light at the end of the tunnel.. she is still showing love which is nice but i feel such a prick...its the first time in years i have actually told her i love her

oddly enough she is still able to text me perfecly huge texts like social counsiller lol ( icant even spell it) but speaking to her is a problem. She is more mobile today my dad has just said and the bruising on her face has gone down dramtically just hope its working towards her brain now

Big hugs dan, i can imagine you must be goign through turmoil right now.

But try as hard as it may be to look on the positive side of things, the operation was a success!! yeah ok she has more bruising than anticipated, but she is in the very early stages of recovery! Hopefully in a few more days time honey she will be well on her way to feeling much much better!

Sorry to hear about this Dan, it can be tough, but you just need to hang in there and give her as much support as you can! Remember a supportive family member is as good as any medicine!

Fingers crossed it all works out fella

The brain is amazing, and can cope with a lot more than people realise, as it can actually recircuit itself.
Some people who suffer brain damage through stroke/rta can actually move from being right to left handed and vice versa.
I had a headbutting session with a tree(rta drink driver, him not me) which left me in hospital 19 monhts, first 3 in a coma, I lost a massive lump of brain, the size of a childs fist(surgeons description) and a hole in the top of my brain, big enough to put a egg cup in.
I do have effects but nothing terrible, and this kind of surgery is very routine now, so I'm really hoping for you, and your mum of course, I think you are going to be pleasantly surprised and she will soon be nagging you again!!

good news mate

tell her to keep in a seated position as this helped me when i had my bump on the noggin

and the next time we meet i'll show you the sracs in my bonce, you can even feel te ridge where the bones gone back together, but not in a kinky way

just tell her to take it easy for as long as she needs to and relax and enjoy her recuperation
