I nailed that lap, I properly LOVE Percy, and my mum is ubercool!

I'm going to take her the Westy and Percy to a beginners day soon and teach her how to drive

Your car looks hard as hell in the metal Rich. The dish on the front wheels is just soooooo foooking wicked!

Yep, "Mummy Manning" is uber cool and had helped me with some Anti Hystamine tablets after that barsteward wasp sting me on the lip!!!

I didnt get one full hot lap last night due to the temps.

The White MK2 XR2 Fiesta (PF one????) was properly fast round corners!!!! Not much if anything corners like my Westy does but I was following that thing around Coram where I usually have to slow up if anything else is in front. I had to really pedal hard to stay with it!!!!! Awesome handling.

Tried to stay on the gas past the pits where everyone was watching but ACT temps pushing 60's there and you could really feel the ignition backing off so could not keep it nailed. Was still pulling 120 by the start of the pit wall though!

Just need to sort this Water Inj prob tonight and then back on the trailer for TOTB Sunday.

See a few of you there.

It was a mix up between MSV and myself. I was originally booked on in the Sierra obviously. But that sold....

I rang up and they wouldn't refund but the person on the phone said I could bring another car. BUT they were unaware that Dave at PF wanted to make it Fords only OR presumed I meant another Ford...

Once I got there Dave was kind enough to make an exception and let as

1. I had driven all that way and ORIGINALLY booked on in the Sierra.
2. Its not as if I've not been a Ford fan for like a zillion years!
3. I grizzled and sulked
4. I slipped him a large brown envelope

Sadly it won't happen again.... Although my Westfield is VERY much Ford based so hopefully he will be ok will that.

Top man Dave. AWESOME night and your Fiesta is very very very fast! I was driving very near the edge in the 911 if you hadn't realised!

Polly did you get back alright, saw you had unhooked trailer just before Thetford.
Allways a pleasure my friend .
I could have done with another few hours really as I'd only just got to grips with the track layout by the end of the evening.
And a change of tyres from combe prob would of helped my times.

Good little event, just a shame I had 7.5 hrs driving to do as well to get there and back.

Tony, in your opinion are charge temps in the late 50's and 60's OK then? I only see them on long straights and especially when the ambient is high.

Usually the WI helps to keep them in the 40's and early 50's max but it decided not to work last night.

ECU was triggering once each time the car was restarted but then would not again. I need to check the wiring. No faults showing in descpro. Pump works fine manually triggered.

I did think that you'd had the 3-door booked in originally - I'm a woman, I could've screamed, cried and stomped my feet! I should've gone to spectate really, ah well

Theres a few more Snetterton track days coming up, maybe a few of us can all book the same track day

if it were me, i would take the air in at the front of the nosecone and pass it over an angled i/c & rad combo before exiting from a vent on top of the nose cone (ala lotus elise) rather than trying to stuff air down a scoop that then has nowhere to exit, therefore not much flow.

hope you take that as constructive criticism

Its actually very effective usually, just last night ambients were that little bit too high with no Water Inj.

I have tried everything and all different designs. The nose is SO small at the front that the intercooler size would be very small.......and then think about the space you need to get good sized boost hoses to it, restricting the radiator size.

Space and airflow oportunity is minimal.

I am always up for new ideas though!!! so fire away!

What makes you think the air has knowhere to go? The nose seals down onto the intercooler so the air HAS to go through it and then exits below.

what's the pressure difference between the above and below? as that is what will dictate how much flow you can achieve. regardless of being sealed, the air will only flow from high pressur eto low pressure - hence why cars like the lotus elise, ford gt etc have the exit from the cooling pack at the top. i just think that yours is possibly the wrong way around, but i appreciate that it's not easy.

Yeah, I do understand the air pressure points but not sure how I would measure it. Ive also tried fans on top of the intercooler. This helped a little at low speeds but probably caused more restiction as higher speeds.

It is a pain and something I am always thinking about how to make better.

Lots of people have problems with the cooling of the radiator on Westies and mine seems to work fine even on track last night dont see more than 95 max so bit hesitant to move the radiator or disturb its current flow about.

Was you the guy in our garage with the Bike then? Sorry, just clicked and should have introduced ourselves if that was the case!!!!

Yeah, that would not have been good, stuck over there. Yes can understand it being disappointing. Are you getting turbo sorted asap ?

Oooooh GAS! great idea chip...

Stu I'd do that... Westy is fast enough for 90% of the time...

Just gets some GAS installed so that you can stick that on for events like TOTB

Flick that switch when you hit 3rd gear. Will MASSIVELY help with cooling as well at high boost!

Mmmmmm......nice idea.

I think it needs a better exhaust manifold and a GT30 first.

........and then Nitrous.

Yes, you are correct, the standard exhaust manifold could cause you problems if you try and run a T4 and nitrous on it at the same time.

GT3071 (the smaller one that only does about 480bhp) on a decent manifold and with a 150bhp progressive nitrous kit and your car would just be fucking sick! And it would drive more nicely than it does now when just on the boost.

As porkie says, its not much of the time you would actually need the gas anyway, and the cooling effects of 150bhp of nitrous are MASSIVE
